TRANSPONDER COST TO DOUBLE ON DEC 28TH

We routinely photocopy the DTOPS renewal and put in the cab with the driver's authorities. We have been asked a few times by border guards at the beginning of the year for proof of renewal, but never a situation like yours, Bigt
 
All our drivers have renewed copies which clearly show the date they were renewed on. but there is one or two officers at this crossing, not even want to look at that renewal copy, instead told driver either pay or go back to Canada. and it happened more than one time.

At that very moment, I imagine there is nothing a driver can do except pay the crossing fee. If I was a driver, I sure wouldn't start getting into it with an officer. But there must be a number you can call and ask for "information" as to whether this should be happening or not.
 
Yes, our safety department call and spoke with some one and he said it is illegal to charge like this. we sent them the renewal copies and receipts for charges which shows officer name on it. He said he will talk to that crossing and will educate them. let's hope they don't get mad and start pulling trucks for no reasons.

Pay it and go inside and talk to a supervisor probably get it looked after right then.
 
My driver got pulled into today while crossing to NY and was asked to pay DTOPS info, Ive never heard of this- we cross Buff everyday and there is very little talk about it here and we have never paid other than ezpass ect....

YA spoke to Truckworld who does out auth and they are checking now.... But thanks for the reply!
 
Should always keep the renewal receipts in your trucks. If the transponder doesn't read for some reason, without the receipt you have to pay cash.

Double check the VIN numbers also. Registering and paying for DTOPS is very easy, and I hope Truckworld MCI is not charging you an excessive "administrative fee". DM me if you'd like me to provide you with the instructions. Times are tough for everyone and you need to save every dollar!

Starting Oct 1st-DTOPS fee increased again. $942,53-annual User Fee and $20,80-single. Since 2023 its doubled. Load boards, our TMS, banks, everyone increasing their fee to keep up with inflation. Only rates are driving to bloody bottom :rolleyes:
