Kindly review below time stamps:
  • we posted a load on the link on 22nd Nov at 9am – Bolton ON to Kitchener ON – direct delivery
  • Trans haul logistics called us stating they can pick up at 9.30am and deliver direct within 2hours. Rate confirmed at $550CAD. We sent the rate confirmation.
  • After 20 minutes, we received a call stating they need $600 for this as they made an error in quoting. We agreed and sent them a revised load confirmation.

  • After pickup, carrier emailed stating they wont able to deliver this load today as the driver wants to take a sick/leave today. Carrier took the load at their yard.
  • We called several times, emailed – no reply until 11am
  • Later after 11am ; they asked us to revised rate if they wanted the delivery by tomorrow afternoon and took the load hostage
  • Later, after a lot of back forth – rate confirmation of $800 was sent.
Load was delivered at 1.30pm as scheduled same day ; driver was always on time – there were no sick calls. Carrier simply wanted more money after pickup and took our load on hostage to re-negotiate on the rate after pickup.

Our team has never encountered such service by a link member.

A&B and many other reputable carriers on this forum are more than capable to of handing this work in a professional manner for you in the future for probably less money than you originally where quoted imo.

Thanks for making us aware of this carriers actions and the auto DNU! It really helps make reputable local carriers standout for their excellent service.
 
Here is a tip so you can avoid this disaster in the future.
Post the load on Load link, take a screen shot of everyone that is available, take the load off the load link. Now you have some time to look at the carrier names, look up their website and other information. Look for carrier names that you know have been around for years. Make some phone calls and find out from people who they recommend. Use the carrier tools in Loadlink to see their information, check to see if their phone numbers and addresses make sense. Give them a call to see how they respond to some of your questions. I'd bet that when you looked over that list, you'd find a carrier that you have used in the past.

If you take the first call off the load link and give them the freight, you'll continue to have these serious problems and if you're taking the lowest option for sure you're getting an issue.
 
The lowest price is usually (but not always) the lowest for a reason. Mis-quoted, took the load with no real intention of hauling the freight, sub par operation, or just no clue at all what the hell they are doing.

I had Transhaul write in for a load I had posted today, thought this might be fun for some of you (will need to start at bottom of email and work your way up)

Did we asked for extra money or did he paid my invoice right it way or did we requested to quick pay on that load, that day we picked load and we had very tight window for delivery ,I think we had a pickup at 9am and delivery by 11:30 am and which driver was assigned on that load he called us he won’t be able to deliver load because he feels very sick and then we assigned other driver and unfortunately he got a call from hospital because his wife went emergency to hospital , after all circumstances we requested for next day delivery because we don’t have driver right it way and then they requested to deliver same day and they will pay extra on it up to 200 $ . we arranged driver from my sister company and deliver load same day ,please ask in your group did we send email for more price or did we refused to deliver his load . we are in business since 2013 and we had very good customers and not a single issue with any broker .please raise my voice in your group and I will explain every thing or any one can call me at 416-834-0700 I can explain every thing with all details .i hope you understand my situation on that day .

we just got a call from Trans haul logistics 10 mins ago ; giving us same explaination. Before anything, the guy came up with the topic of this review.
 
  • Payment term – 30 days, if not paid 10% per month compounding monthly interest will be applied until paid in full.

Google told me this..

Section 347 of the Criminal Code of Canada sets the maximum allowable annualized interest that may be charged at 60% – interest charged above that level is considered usury and is a criminal offence.
