Trans Air Transportation

Just received a call from Trans Air Transportation mc 662245, FMCSA shows 1 truck, no inspections. Sankar was calling on a hazardous shipment and told us he was a haz carrier. I checked and he is not authorized in the US, he says he does hazardous in the US without any problem. Very pushy for the freight. I'm staying well away.

Sankar (who also calls with updates from his truck at the shipper and consignee) has handled 2 shipments for us and all went off without a hitch (NON HAZ). These shipments discussed were both in June 2011.

Did I mention that he calls with updates from both the shipper and consignee? Impressive!

This hazmat discussion you mention does frighten me though!

We booked this cowboy with some goods today, but can't reach him to verify he got the info or is on the road. Anyone else have experience with him?
Has GTA number, US cell number, email , and no answer...in 2016 ? Did do a job for us earlier this year without probs, but these operators who book freight and then can't be reached don't seem to have any idea the disservice they're doing for their reputation. We run into this all the time. Either you're in business or you're not....and if you're not answering the phone, well

So true. I'm grateful for ANY communication at all from some people. Even a cursory "got it" to acknowlwdge receipt of the order would sometimes be nice. And then on the other end of the spectrum you get people who are super efficient and friendly.. with precise and detailed communication.
