Just a question. Does anyone know if TQL has a sales presence here in Canada? Noticing that they are aggressively quoting a client.
Any insight is appreciated.
Thanks

They call me monthly wanting to work for us and no matter how many times I tell them once they buy trucks then we will talk they keep calling. This has been ongoing the last 5 to 7 years, luckily it's all US numbers and I don't usually answer.

Its not just tql its anyone you've ever worked with - the logistics industry is full of slime bags. People who left this company still monthly solicit accounts of mine a couple times per year without success.

TQL is absolutely heartless and has no soul. What they expect in terms of service vs. what they are willing to pay is a joke. I haven't booked with them in over 2 years, and on my personal DNU list.

From time to time they call us asking us to give them our customer contacts to see if they need any "help" moving freight; we laugh at them every time.

They do the same here.

they phone us once a week for the longest time, quoted us triple what our current carrier works for us for and got offended when told that.

Bad news outift

They call me every month. I have not given them a single load as their prices are far too high.

I learned from their rep that every 40 days(I believe) if they haven't gotten business out of you they change your rep then start the whole thing over. They have a very aggressive business model but I don't understand how they bring in customers with those prices.

How are their prices high - they don't pat carriers anything - they keep calling to see if we have trucks in the area and will quote 1/2 the price we are asking for - no thank you

Why would you give them any load knowing that they are strictly a broker, no assets? To do so would be to knowingly participate in a double brokerage situation. In addition, from the posts here, it seems they quote the owner of the freight a very high rate and then if they get the freight, sell the load to the carrier at rock bottom prices.

Yes, but they also call us asking if we have any broker freight we can give to them to sell.

What do you mean by broker freight? If you are a broker and you give freight to another broker, that is referred to as double brokering. If you are a carrier with freight you have no intention of moving on your own assets and in turn sell that freight to a broker, you have also engaged in double brokering. A carrier that sells the freight that he does not move on his own trucks is called….a broker. Whether it is with TQL or anyone else, double brokering dilutes the revenue payable to the actual carrier of the freight, complicates tracing efforts and exposes the original broker and his customer (the owner of the goods) to unnecessary risk. Let’s not try and put perfume on a pig here. Double brokering, co brokering, is all the same animal and really should be avoided and discouraged.

I meant broker freight - they call us and ask us if we have any freight that we can give them. When we say no, they ask if we have any freight that we have taken from load brokers that we can give them.

Did not say we give it to them, hence me calling them crazy town.

No question, they seem to be a desperate bunch over there. I am sure they have fooled quite a few brokers and/or carriers into giving them freight. Trying to keep this industry honest and above board requires constant vigilance from everyone. If everybody took the extra time and effort to ensure they were dealing with reputable, professional entities, carrier and broker alike, we could make this industry a better place for all of us. Crappy carriers and dirt bag brokers only exist because we feed them, like feral cats or racoons at your back door. Everyone has to learn to say NO.

The have started that method with me.

I don't know about your dealings but;

TQL pays faster & more money than 99% of Canadian-based Brokerages.

There's no waiting for two hours on the tender; there's no waiting on your accounting to get back from vacation.

Canadian brokers can send that cheque after 45 days if you're lucky. Here in Toronto we're advised 30 days, but then AP says 60 days.

If we were to remove cabotage laws from the US/CAD market 95% of you would lose your business within a month.
