Im so mad that I could cuss but I wont because I dont want to be banned and wont be able to see the replies.Ok lets get started I was on the phone with these people booking a load from Toronto to Moncton I sent them my docs and they sent me a carrier package to fill out.Another CH book.So I fill out the book and fax it back, wait 2 hours for a call back which doesnt happen. So its Friday afternoon and I would like to be able to load on Monday.Xmas was expensive LOL.So I call back and im informed by Sarah that they wont load me because I dont have US authority. What kind of BULLSWHIT is this.Is this not discrimination? Is this legal? How can they steal my freight in my country and refuse to give it to me.Looking forward to feedback on this one.

If it paid anything like the other freight they have they did you a favour by cancelling. It was probably double brokered and paid peanuts. They are following in CHR's footsteps.

Upset with reason

What you should do is follow through with your complaint.
I do not know what jurisdiction this freight broker operates out of , although they must have authorities themselves.

The details of what you are looking for should be in that large contract they sent you.

Write a letter of complaint to the authorities that govern the broker in question and CC a copy to the Freight broker, attach a copy of an invoice for $50.00 to the broker for a contract review and set up charge. Which you generally wave when you get the load in question.

The broker's incopetence is not your problem, they most likely found someone cheaper and used your lack of US authorities as an excuse to not give you a purely Canadian Load.

Their miler program quite possibly had routing through the US...which would then require US authorities. Americans are often unaware about Canadian geography and this person may not have been aware that you can run through Canada without crossing into the US.

Freight broker

Running through the US would require payment of duties at the border or require an IT bond , both highly unlikely scenario's for a simple domestic move.

They are based out of Milton, Ohio. As far as the rate went it was better than 3 out of the 4 carriers that I do that lane for and tied with the other. Ok - someone said notify the authorities - ok - good idea. Which authorities?

Anyone have any ideas?

Exactly what are you going to tell the authorities "oh they didn't like me and didn't give me the freight" this isn't the school yard. If you took freight from a company and decided that you did not like them and gave it back can they call the authorities on you? Let it go.
