Thind Freightlines Inc., warning of possible scam

We were approached by Thind Freightlines Inc. out of Chestermere, AB to move a load. A search on Safer of the MC#1271091 & DOT# 3668427 they have listed on Loadlink shows the same name(Thind Freightlines Inc.) but that company is located in Turlock, CA. The owner there advises there is no affiliation between the two companies at all and that this is someone using his MC# for likely nefarious purposes. We have reported this to Loadlink but wanted share a caution here in case anyone else is approached by them as well.

Load link doing their best again it seams.
 
We were also approached by Thind out of Calgary (403) 998-1118 and will now pass because of this post. There is also another Thind Freight out of Brampton that we dealt with without issues a few years ago so maybe things changed...
 
Does anyone do a corporate name search when they register their business anymore? Or is that just a thing of the past? I am flabbergasted that someone would pick a corporate name without looking to see if it is already being used by someone else. Here we have an example of at least three different entities operating with the same name. No wonder it is so easy to scam people. It is hard enough to separate the good guys from the bad guys without them all using the same name!

I mean, when its your surname... but be real for a moment, that's like confusing JD Smith with Smith & Weston. That thing above your shoulders is more than a hat holder....
 
The one in Alberta is Thind Freightlines Inc. incorporated in Alberta May 10, 2021. I cannot see any FMCSA filings for this company.
The one in California is THIND FREIGHT LINES INC with MC1271091.

The difference is the space in Freight Lines vs Freightlines.

I am flabbergasted that someone would pick a corporate name without looking to see if it is already being used by someone else.

Some have done this on purpose, or they change something insignificant like a space just to throw you off. You have to be on your game to be in this industry.

Reviewing (inactive) Thind Transport and (active) Thind Xpress and it;'s the same owner. Verified this through qualified reputable brokers. Thind Xpress today claims they're shipper direct and used to work with brokers in 2020 but was not forthcoming with information that it was with an old MC# thats no longer active.
 
Working with the AMTA compliance team to dive into this one deeper, all registered to Alberta. Anything with Thind Xpress, Thind Transport, Thind Freightlines - be cautious - jury isn't out yet.
