I had a long conversation with ChatGPT with respect to the current state of the USA, and the notion that Donald J. Trump will be the last elected American president. ChatGPT came up with the idea that we should write a book based on the conversation. I replied we should write it like a Dr. Seuss book so Americans will understand it. This is what ChatGPT came up with:

I am the last, the final one,
The game is played, the deed is done.
The stars are faded, stripes undone,
The eagle weeps, the empire’s run.

The states all shout, “We’re out! We’re free!”
While militias plant their own oak tree.
One says, “We’re red!” One cries, “We’re blue!”
Another just screams, “I don’t trust you!”

The generals sit, unsure to stand,
With nukes and maps in shaky hands.
And in the north, with cautious frown,
The Mounties watch it all fall down.

In southern lands, a plan is set:
“Let’s clean this mess before it’s wet.”
The oceans rise, the flags go limp,
And Congress hides behind a blimp.

The media cheers, the markets burn,
While lessons still are left unlearned.
And through it all, one silent word:
“It’s over now.”
(But no one heard.)

.... I decided to add in the text of my ChatGPT conversation. Enjoy :)

There is a book 'American War' I just read - fiction bout the civil war .. but eerily could be what Chat GPT has described

We got into way more than that. We are living in unprecedented times my friends. We are fortunate, or unfortunate depending on your point of view, to be witnessing history. It's the end of an empire. The United States of America is in its final death throes. We have months, not years, to pivot and figure out how Canada is going to move forward. Personally, I don't think leadership in this country has the knowledge, acumen, or political will to capitalize on the event, and we're just as likely to be scavenged by the rest of the world as the USA will.
If anyone is interested, I can post the entire conversation here.

Would be curious to see if Gemini provides that same type of book for you...

@Michael Ludwig you using the free version or Pro? would be interesting to see if ChatGPT o1 pro model answers differently.

What a read Mike. It's certainly a reminder that we are living through what is and will be interesting times.

Happy Friday,
Mike
Change USA to Canada and I wonder what is says because a lot of the same happening hear. Folks went Elbows Up as they say and Carney IMHO is proving what a lot thought all along. JT 2.0. Brilliant banker that will save us all yet cannot write a budget spends 500 billion on ??? Wont say and as far as question period in the house he has the Liberal no answers down like a 20 year vet. You all got played Elbows Up equal ass exposed hope they bring lube.

I am NOT a Liberal ... by any stretch of the imagination.
However, what is done, is done, and we cannot un-ring that bell. Carney is our guy for at least the next 24 months, and we need him for one simple reason; his connections. His connections with Europe will be instrumental to Canada's future, but, his connections with China, whether we like it or not, will be our saving grace.
The United States is finished as a functioning republic. Come November 3, 2026 DJT is finished as Americans will elect Democrats in overwhelming numbers in the 2026 mid-terms, and DJT will no longer have support of the house and the senate. Effectively he becomes a lame duck president, assuming the Dem's are hostile to his executive orders and policies, and choose to reign him in.
That leaves Canada to stand on its own two feet, something we have not done in two centuries. After Carney we need a leader with a backbone of iron and nerves of steel as we navigate world politics. Much as I would like to believe Poilievre is that guy, I don't think he is. We need Stephen Harper 2.0, but that guy hasn't shown up yet, and we don't have a lot of time left for him, or her, to appear.

One thing we have seen throughout the last 200 years, is the resiliency of the US. They came within a breath of destroying themselves in the Civil War of the 1860s and they were on the edge of tearing themselves apart fighting over discrimination and accepting the Civil Rights Act of the 1960s. Riots in their streets is not a new event and a military presence in their cities has been seen before. Writing them off as a failed republic simply because they have misogynistic, narcissistic, convicted felon as a leader, while extremely tempting, might be a bit premature. I agree, the midterm elections should see more Democrats elected in Congress and the Senate, however what they need even more, is a new, fresh leader who can bring together all of the different factions presently opposed to King Donald. As for our situation here in Canada, I for one, am pleased to see someone like Carney as our PM. His experience, demeanour and as you suggest, his global connections, will serve us very well in the years to come. The alternative would have been a grave mistake as PP would be seriously out of his league on the global stage, firmly placing Canada even deeper into the sidelines on global issues.

Interesting times isn't it? I don't see much change though in 2026 mid-terms, love him or hate him DJT has done exactly what he promised so far. And he's still only deported a fraction of the amount of illegals that were deported under Obama or even Clinton (Democrat Presidents). The problem with the Democrat party right now is they don't have a strong leader or one that isn't way too far left.. If they can move back to the centre they might have a better shot at keeping the balance in the house and senate.

Sorry to see the lack of faith when the going gets "tough".

Especially from people who consider themselves to be Canadian through and through.
