The DOT Directory

Never, looks like someone just trying to make money and make our jobs easier???? lol as if................

Once they are done updating you they will send you a big fat invoice. We had someone pull this kind of shat on us back years ago. Called here to update us and I had just come off the road into the office so when dude called I gave him the info as we had just moved. A month later a $2200 bill came for the service. Never did pay it. They made all kinds of threats etc about paying blah blah blah. I told them in no uncertain terms to shove said bill into the orifice of their choice.

I get calls weekly to update our info for some directory that I've never heard of, every time I asked to be taken off the list and they answer ok and hang up on me

I'd send THEM an invoice for $2400.00.. the price of having my precious name appear in their directory.

Hi there,

My name is Dave Allen, I am the Marketing Director of The DOT Directory.

We are bringing transparency to the trucking industry by centrally providing accurate records of all the for-hire trucking companies across Canada and the U.S.A.

We do this by calling every trucking company/carrier across North America, and update things such as: fleet composition, services, service areas, & contact details. That way, when a shipper needs to move freight they can easily find the right truck to do business with. We make this call on a yearly basis, so that our directory is up-to-date with accurate information. Nobody does this for the industry, and it it should have been done a long time ago.

We do not make money from Carriers, nor do we invoice them. We encourage shipping companies to directly connect with carriers to do business, and we give shippers the tools to do so. We make our money from shipping companies, its our philosophy that the trucking companies should ride for free. We plan on bringing the industry into the information age and making the process of moving freight easier for all parties involved in the process.

I would be happy to speak to any questions you guys may have about our business either here on the forum, or directly on email. My contact information is below.

Email: dave@dottrucks.com

Hope that Ive addressed some questions here & I look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome Dave,

I'm sure you could post in nearly every thread offering your services, that being said this site is about information sharing, protecting each other from 'shady' characters and sharing stories so that others can learn from our experiences. We are pretty casual around here and do enjoy a little humor also. Business is business but may as well have a little fun at the same time.

Feel free to reach out to Admin about advertising if that is your interest in coming to this forum.

Keep well and Happy Friday!
Mike

Oh what a wonderful idea....another directory with our name address and phone number so every JOE BLOW can call and try to sell us everything from tires to time shares!!!. No Thank you Dave. Word of mouth and great service is what generates this industry!!!!

I understand your concern completely. There is a lot of garbage out there. We do not give the public access to our directory. In order to gain access you must work directly in the trucking/freight business, and hold a title such as shipping manager, traffic manager, chief logistics manager. We care about quality, and cannot have marketing or sales folk, for example, poking around the directory. It is counter intuitive and they have no reason for being there. If you're not looking to move freight then we dont provide access :) Each member who requests access is personally vetted by a phone call before getting an account.
