Thanks NAWK, it sounds like some of their internal compliance standards are an issue....It says over 24 months. Sorry about my nativity here, but this seems high correct?

I left the choice up to my customer, it's a straight forward dock to dock no appts. load. They said go for it so I'll keep ya posted how it goes....

I've got to agree with you on the percentage. In this case it's one violation of eight. I'd be much more concerned if it was 8 violations out of 64!! Hopefully in a few months it's 1 out of 20.

I have to admit, I am a little curious Tansaction, when you say “I left the choice up to my customer”. What was the choice, use a carrier with a less than stellar compliance record, or use one/look for one with better record? Was there a rush to get this shipment done immediately? Only curious.

It's only one violation... I ask you... would you put your wife and cute little son in a car and let them drive from here to there in front of a trucker that has gone in to hours of service violation?

Stop giving these carriers freight!

I told the customer that this is a new carrier for us and they passed our vetting process except for their safety record was somewhat questionable. It was not a rush shipment.

The sampling.. 8 inspections.. is too small to draw any meaningful conclusions. They may in fact be very safe (or not).. Taken to the extreme.. 1 driver inspection resulting in an out of service violation would lead some to believe that the carrier is an accident waiting to happen.. with a 100% out of service record. The "system" is rigged in favor of the large carriers.. which is why some of the big box carriers in the US can have an entire youtube channel dedicated to their accidents, incidents, and mishaps yet still maintain a relatively good safety rating while Joe Shmoe with one truck.. if he gets one little violation that puts him out of service his record goes to pot.. a menace on the highway.

Just a follow up for everyone; Tenax did a great job! Good communication, picked up on time and delivered on time. They even had an issue with the customs broker after hours, reached out to us to let us know and got it solved.

Have been using them for a couple years. They did screw up pretty good on a load there a couple weeks ago but overall not many issues. I would use them again.

Did a laod earlier last year - got paid on time - I am sure we picked from shipper and delivered with our name on the BOL ...
