Talk to me about fls please!!!

A buddy of mines son worked for them for a couple months and he said all they do is scour any and all available load boards book freight and double broker it on the Link. If they cannot cover it the just call say the truck broke down and give it back.. On my DNU for a couple years

THANKS FOR THE UPDATE BUT OH TO LITTLE TOO LATE TODAY. I'LL WATCH FOR WHO PICKS IT UP AND FIX IT.:p

Never have taken a load from them... or have trusted them with one of mine... Two dispatchers to watch out from this out fit are Gum & Sunny. If they ever call to offer you a load... hang up !!!

Not that I need to run and protect them, but here goes.

I am a carrier and have not had issues with them. Been working with them since the mid 90's. I heard that they were paying a little slower so I simply opted for the quick pay on a $3200.00 load. Delivered on Thursday money was wired into our account on the next Tuesday did lose the 5%. Better than a broker that gives you freight under 30 day terms and ends up paying you in 60 to 70, adding insult to injury they offer quick pay with your money!

I do not know if FLS has trucks now, but they used to load out of Manson Insulation in Brossard QC. all day long in their own trucks and trailers back in the mid 1990's, I saw this with my own eyes and we ended up hiring one of their drivers around 2001.

It appears they gave our load to transport caf. Anyone recognize that name out of lasalle?

FLS had trucks once upon a time ... probably a 50 truck fleet, but I think they got rid of them in '09 or something. But a lesser known fact is that they have interest in Keltic, and had interest in Kenmore.

It's probably the only case where I can say the Ontario operations operate with less ethics than the Quebec operations. I've known a few salespeople who were enticed there for a short period of time where they ended up leaving early because they were so disgusted with them.

I know they pay their bills and they're profitable. I also know they have their own customers but it wouldn't surprise me if there was some co-brokering/double brokering going on there. I actually think it's a reflection of the actual sales rep since everyone is basically told 'have at it' there.

Is this the same company as well?

FLS is a bit like CH Robinson or Traffic Tech, they have multiple offices all around. Offices don't speak to one another, so if you speak to one office, they know nothing about what the other does.

fls saga - any thoughts on this one

our team lead got an after hours call last night from them asking for a comcheque because the driver they had on our load needed fuel - WTH is with that. I come in this morning and they want us to sign a credit application. I told him we are the customer why would I sign?
