Just thought I would do a little poll - make sure I am not crazy:D

Looking for your thoughts:

Southern MS to Edmonton AB
53VAN 40,000 LBS 1.76 per mile
GOOD RATE?

Sense the sarcasim I hope.

Rate is low...should be around the $2.20 - $2.25 range per mile (inclusive of fuel). Next month should be all in around $2.40 - $2.45.

Nothing coming out of Edmonton (for that matter, anywhere to say in Canada) and with the dollar so low, inbound rates are destined to move higher.

I'd have to agree ... I would have pegged $2.25 per mile, depending where you are in Southern Mississippi maybe a bit higher still. No trucks there.

flip side

Maybe the carrier who should consider this load is based out of Edmonton, and he made 3.50 per mile outbound to MS. Some of you guys kill me....lol...

Please name any Carrier based in Alberta or anywhere out west that has freight paying $3.50 p/m on Vans. You would be hard pressed to find one getting $1.75. Quit dreaming............. Get back to work!

I was offered 60 cents per mile and 82 cents per mile out of Edmonton today. I would love to find the 3.80 guy form Alberta to USA.

Try running back and forth from Vancouver to Alberta. Out here the rates average all of $1.60 to $1.70 (if you're really lucky). I'd love to be able to get $2.00+ considering what running the 5 mountain ranges between here and Alberta does to wear and tear and fuel economy. You flat-landers don't know how good you have it.

I agree as well...rate should be in the 2.25 to 2.40 per mile range. 1.76 is too low considering the lack of outbound freight in Edmonton.

For the life of me I cannot see how anybody can run a truck up and down the road for less than $3.00 per mile with the price of fuel.

Just my .02 cents worth
