Hi,

One of our drivers had a trailer stolen from him. It was kept at a facility in the Industrial Road area in Cambridge, and disappeared at some point this past weekend.

It is an ex Challenger Van Trailer,
48', 4 Axle
License Plate # F88 73P
White, Challenger Mud Flaps still on it

He was using this trailer to help his Parents move, so all of there personal belongings were stolen as well.

Please pass this on as much as you can, as you can imagine any help recovering this trailer and its belongings would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bummer,
In my experience most trailers that are stolen (with the exception of high value planned heists) are taken simply because they were easy to grab. The bad guys will hook, drive away, and then examine the contents down the road. If it is something that they feel they can sell in a hurry they will keep it. If not, they will just drop it and move on.
Used furniture and personel effects are probably not worth thier while unless their is a big screen TV and some other good stuff in the trailer.
My bet is that Challenger or whoever owns the trailer will get a call in a day or two asking them why their trailer is dropped behind some warehouse. Hopefully the contents willl still be in it.

Good luck and reply if found.

Stolen traiuler

I also had a full trailer load stolen from our Mechanics yard after it was dropped for repairs.
This time the thiefs cut through a high security lock locking a gate, then an expensive pin lock was frozen with nitrogen and smashed , and finally the high security lock on the trailers doors was again ground through.
The contents were a full load of appliances, these boxes were bulky and heavy and retail under $600.00 a peice.
You need a pick up or something bigger to deliver each of the 120 pieces.
You have to be organized to get rid of that.
The trailer was found 3 days later at a local Wallmart store.

Somebody new what was in the trailer or they would not have gone to all the trouble.
If I was a cop I would be interviewing everyone in your company that new about it as well as your mechanic.
The goods were pre-sold and not at Walmart.

What I ship

It was defintly inside but not from our part. Our shipper had had a rash of stolen trailers that summer, straight out of their yard.
The logo on our trailer is big and quite distinct. Unfortunatly our mechanic's yard was visible from the interstate, and the thiefs recognized the logo and gae it a shot.
Their guess paid out.
About two years later I was contacted by the Quebec provincial police squad dealing with organized crime, they had received information regarding the theft through an informant.
