I had my empty reefer stolen from Milton probably over easter weekend and it was found today around kipling and evans by someone who called the number on the back wanting to buy it for a storage trailer. I didn't even know it was missing :-( Trailer is now two wheels, two doors and a fuel tank lighter. It says Onroute Freight on the doors if anyone happened to see it while it was away on vacation. If anyone has an extra fuel tank or reefer unit doors lying around please let me know. Not enogh missing parts to put through insurance.

Milton

Is it me or does thee seem to be an inordinately large amount of trailers being stolen from Milton yards? Morris , Traffix also recently lost a load of toys . Living in Milton I read almost weekly about stolen equipment and it maybe that it happens more elsewhere and is not considered news worthy by their local media but it just seems unusually large amount of theft.

Milton seems to have more trucking companys then police. The guy who stole my trailer had stolen a trailer earlier in the day from PTR but I guess he was looking for an empty because he left the PTR loaded storage trailer in my yard and took mine. I have a pic of the truck it is a white International flattop with grey fenders working on a 10 day temp license. If that seems familiar to anyone pls reply.

PTR unit

Hey Mark,
Just curious if you know the trailer number they left in your yard as I rent a few from PTR and have them stored with them. Were the police and PTR involved with this unit in your yard?? Would hate to see one of mine go missing!!!

There is tons of equipment getting stolen anywhere and everywhere, we had trailer stolen about a month ago and there was only a 3 hour window between when the trailer arrived to our dock and the other driver getting back to the dock to grab another trailer.
We are right by the airport, close to PTR too. Penske on Atlantic actually had equipment stolen from there yard on Atlantic during daylight hours...
It's getting to be crazy now, we got better pin locks, glad hands and paddlocks for all of our trailers. The more harder they are too take the less chance of them getting taken. Our trucks have hard wired GPS systems in them that you can't even tell that they are in there so that helps alot, had 2 highway units stolen over a year ago and were able to tell the police exactly where they were, where they went etc. We have a new GPS's going in by the end of the month that we can actually get e-mails when truck ignition goes on/off, also when it enters or exits our yard/warehouse. It's pretty amazing what these things can do, we currently have 4 units with them and I remember a few weekends go one of the drivers had the breaks repaired on the truck and it moved from the yard down the street and we were on it right away that the truck was moving when nothing was scheduled.
We all need to keep an eye out on things for everyone, we had a straight truck parked on our street for a whole day, so we went over and got the number off of the truck and called them and yep stolen, so we then called the police to report that it was parked there all day since we arrived into work.
