Bad Bad Bad..

We gave them a load for $6500 CAD, their asking price. NJ to BC. Step Deck.. Great Price, customer super happy!!
But then!!
Statewide Group Inc gave the load to another broker for unknown price.
That broker gave the load to a legit carrier for $8500 USD..

Picked up on a flat deck, wouldn't supply pictures of the Cab, just trailer, untarped! and asked for quickpay by wire transfer minimum 50%.
Scammers and liars.. !!

Luckily the carrier knew us from the BOL and called us to ask if we would take over..... crisis averted..

Anytime a new carrier ask for QP before the load is even touched is a red flag for us......

Glad you caught it but now your customer is out of pocket a much of brown bills!!!

Well run companies usually do not require quick pay. Perhaps a small outfit with limited resources can benefit from getting their receivables collected in a short time frame, but even they should try and resist the urge to make it a habit. Our industry, like almost every other one, operates on credit terms. It is a part of the landscape and the sooner a company can learn to live with it the better. As many posts on this site have pointed out, asking for quick pay is a red flag to many brokers, carriers and shippers. Plus it is a strategy used frequently by double brokers who have no intention of paying the actual carrier. My advice is, use it sparingly and only when absolutely necessary.

The triple broker's name was Glen group. Not sure of the spelling. Be careful and watch out for this company too. Glen? Glenn Group.

See this is where your problems start, when you go for the best deal you really get what you pay for. What were you expecting for $6500, cupcakes and rainbows?

I wouldn't move a dry van for that much let alone a step-deck. The alarm bells should have started going off right there at the price. I'm positive you probably have had some reputable open deck options on that lane as I know many great BC step-deck carriers that go out east, but you chose Rohan Babu from Nampa Idaho if that's really where he's from LOL

Sorry BCBOY but these types of bottom feeders thrive off brokers and customers like you who are always looking for the cheapest rate in the race to the bottom and you are not helping yourself or the industry by facilitating these types of bad players.

And there he was about to light his cigar with a $100 bill to celebrate his sweet profit.
