SRSB Transportation Inc

Show me the law. Carrier with carrier authority acting as a broker.
You may want to back off on the tough guy shit. You are on the hook unless of course you would rather they deal with your client. Sorry to say the double broker is the one who will get off scott free. You or you client will need to make payment if the carrier does it right. Not want a broker wants to hear but it is the case.

We were the one of the carriers whom they also brokered the load too (SRSB Transportation)
Found out that they brokered it from Longhaul in Ontario
and sold it to us for more than what they got paid for the load. Longhaul also paid SRSB for this service
SRSB asked us to help them, as their equipment was broken down in GA and they needed help moving this shipment from GA to QC
We work with a factoring company. SRSB had a low credit with our factoring company to which they already had one invoice pending for 15 days for another carrier, so we were refused a credit approval on them.
When we spoke to SRSB about this they very smartly went ahead and spoke to the factoring company and to clear their credit, dropped TWO post dated cheque for our contracted amount and other carrier at the factoring company's office in Mississauga, ON the same day
They have apparent another branch in Brampton, ON
We picked the shipment for them from GA and safely delivered it to the consignee in QC
To our surprise, Well once delivered the check got NSF.
After that continuously there is No respond to any communication via email or phone (their phone system is not in function too)
But again they are still an authorised transport company and working with different brokers and getting paid for the jobs that they are double brokering
Not only that they are double brokering but writing out fraud checks for payment so BE AWARE!!
We got burnt but more than that it's frustrating to see that SRSB Transporation is still in business and scamming other carriers like us who are doing righteous work
Donna, Can you please contact me directly to advise what load you hauled for SRSB so I can make arrangements to get you paid. Longhaul 905-854-8800 Karen

Why it's the truth...she implied in her thread that we were in "business" with them.
We did our due diligence with regards to insurance, authorities and safety record.
If you take a load from a shipper, broker or carrier without doing proper credit check that's your fault not mine!
I don't take loads from other carriers or brokers we work directly for our clients only and we make sure they have good credit.
We were called in by SRSB as their equipment was broken down and they needed help moving this shipment. We helped them in good faith as another carrier.
Yes we checked their credit but never asked for a posted dated check. SRSB called our factoring company and gave them references of brokers like you who were working with them and assured the payments.

As mentioned in the previous post we were the second carrier who worked with them through the factoring company. So there were two checks issued and dropped at the factoring companies Ontario office as a good gesture of faith by SRSB and proving that they were genuinely in need to move this shipment as their equipment was broken down.

When we the actual carriers contacted Longhaul we were shuffled around and told that it was not Longhaul's responsibility as they had done their due diligence and paid their carrier SRSB for this shipment and that we should look into this by ourselves as we made a decision to work with SRSB but again this is Longhaul's shipment and responsibility too as you received the paperwork (POD) on this shipment from SRSB and the ACI manifest that states the company's name and phone number carrying this shipment into CANADA. Did you raise questions on that ?
Mistake do happen and can be corrected if worked on it together. We had to bring this incident to this platform and advise other carriers and brokers, to caution them and ask for help as we were not receiving any help from Longhaul and SRSB. We are not trying to BASH or spoil anyones reputation over here on this platform but share our experiences and asking for help to get paid for our services

I have a small question to the Brokers, say if there was a damage or if anything would have happened to this shipment during transit who would this be covered by or who would it be insured under?

Obvious answer-- The carrier carrying this shipment which is "Us", so why is there an issue ? Why can't we get paid for this by the broker.
In this case Longhaul. We even agreed to settle for the amount that SRSB had contracted for this shipment.

Karen, you were sent in the papers and all the documents attached to this file by my operations department.
So you know the details of the shipment hauled as posted in your above post.
Will ask the person responsible and in charge from my company to contact you. Appreciate your understanding

The guy's name is Shampy Sidhu. He's done this before under the company name S.R. Cargo World. He burned us on two loads for 10k. He kept telling us he was going to pay us until he fell off the face of the earth. Another scumbag double-broker.
