STOLEN BOAT FROM SHIPPING COMPANY

I sold this boat a few weeks ago to a buyer from British Columbia. The boat was paid for and everything cleared. A legitimat...e sale. The buyer hired a shipping company in Ontario called Skyway Transport based out of Mississauga, to pick up the boat from me and take it to a shipping yard in Toronto before it was sent out to BC. A truck was sent and picked up the boat. We were able to get the licence plate off of the truck that picked up the boat and that has been submitted to the police. Prior to when the boat was picked up, I received a phone call from the dispatcher that a truck was just leaving the Belleville area and on its way. I was able to run that number and it came up as J O Express & Transport out of Peterborough. The buyer who orchestrated the transportation had no idea who J O Transportation was . We later found out that it was a company that the Skyway Transport subcontracted the job to. They said the boat was dropped off at its destination of 3469 Laird Road in Mississauga. Who knows but bottom line the boat is missing. If you see this boat please contact myself or call the police. The numbers are on the side of the boat but they are stickers and can be removed. It is a 1953 Century Resorter with a Ford 292 dual carb dual exhaust motor. Please share so we can find this beautiful boat and get it into the hands of the new owner and not some POS thief. The number for Skyway Transport has since been disconnected.

Would the Link be able to give you any information? Names, phone numbers, bank info? I know that is supposed to be confidential but this is a unique situation.

FYI most people think companies are out there to do good business and not screw people over, so whether they used company abc or xyz, how were they to know they would get caught?

guess they will buy some land in Florida unseen next and then scream bloody murder when they can't use it.

They need to put a claim in with Zurich directly only chance they have as the policy was still in force and it was explained to me that even if they cancel Zurich will have to deal with the claims. Link has cut them off and the insurance broker is also looking for them and sick of the phone calls.

Hey ... they probably didn't have anybody calling on them, probably got them off of uship or something like this where it looks good but nobody is vetted. Crazy.

Trailer wizards has 3 trailers on site with freight. They have 6 more coming in, with freight. And looking for 8 more trailers. Call Them in Mississauga if you see any of the trailers. They will release freight with proof and are cooperating.

Talk to Zurich direct, actually go on their website and fill out a claim that way, it is what i was told to do not real helpful. Jones Deslauriers don't even waste your time dialing they just send you to Zurich and that's it.
Thanks htcollections. I will call Rob at Trailer wizards and hope they some of those trailers have my customers freight in them.

I am sure they will locate the remaining trailers, and they probably hold freight also. someone told me one of their warehouses was empty.
