How are they to work for as a broker? Is it common for brokers to pay for reefer fuel?

Rates are fair if you are doing a load that they need to fill their contracts. However, there are three things to watch when doing business with them.

1. if its a load of produce, mind your temps...not just for scot lynn, but any load of produce.
2. if waiting time is incurred loading or unloading, call them right away, they will not pay waiting time if they are not notified even if it is at 2am.
3. payment terms - you will need to hound them for their money, they generally pay us in about 45 days, but they usually try to get 90 days.

Long story short, we do their loads if they fit best for us.

I believe as a broker you are saying that you are an owner operator. Is it common to pay for reefer fuel yes if you are on the percentage contract. On mileage I would tell him to stick it in his @##. we are also looking for owner operators PM me if you have any intrest.
