Schroeder Freight - Bankruptcy

There is a member on here from the good Schroder - which is still running and paying their bills. Schroeder Transport is not related to Schroder Freight.

Hi,

I use to work for Schroeder but no longer- they laid me and my entire office off Dec 13th.

I have zero communication with anyone with Schroeder.

I cannot comment on whether anyone will be paid. But I can tell you the company was doomed. They grew too big too fast. Way too many employees that were just filling seats in the office. The adjectives that come to mind are : inefficient, sloppy, incompetent, stingy and bureaucratic. I feel for the family. It is a shame that a family business ends up broke. Someone mentioned Carlin. He was dead weight. They did have some good staff: HR, Dispatch, Accounting and a few more. All the staff that came from Flying Eagle were awesome. I have to wonder if the Receiver will find much in the way of assets. The trailers were junk. Did they lease all the Tractors?

Before I opened the Mississauga office they where well over 15.6 million in debt- You feel for the family? They should have told us in Sept that they cant pay the bills and not waited till Dec 13th to close us down. The only reason why they shut us down was because they knew if they keep us going carriers would hold freight hostage and it would cause more issues in the future, they closed the warehouse and 3pl in Winnipeg to save on labor.... Crazy to slap the hand that was feeding you.

So Schroeder blames it all on the logistics division and the logistics division goes to Anco and Anco is owed money as an unsecured the same as the rest of us. I say let them sink. $5 mil owed to the Schroeders as secured creditors yet they want to pay me sometime over the next 7 years after they get theirs??

Notwithstanding Rob's link to the MNP website, has anyone actually received the Proposal in the mail, because the vote is March 21 in Winnipeg. That means, if you want to vote in the proposal, you do not have a lot of time to complete the form, and get it to MNP.
