We did a load from Brantford On to Nisku, Ab
on Sept 15th and our invoice date is Sept 29.
After many
and we are told "they are having money problems".
and "are in talks with numerous banks".

I remember Salto having freight out of Pennsylvania a few years ago and they were less than honest about what the goods were and even less than upfront about providing credit information to establish an account. They were very evasive. Stay far away.

Salto Freight

Any update on payment history on these guys. My dispatch took a load end of June and I'm just getting thier credit application. So far does not look good...

Not sure about their payment terms, but if you are having problems it could be they are just disorganised and confused... Maybe they have sent your cheque to somebody else... Maybe they mailed your cheque but forgot to put an address on it...

We brokered a load to them and I had to contact them for paperwork because my customer said the freight never arrived.

First I got an email with an attachment that was not able to be opened.

Then I got paperwork and invoice for a completely unrelated load picking up and delivering in another province.

Then I got the invoice that was for my company with our load confirmation, but with a bill of lading that came from the right shipper, but was for the wrong load... I guess their driver picked up and delivered somebody else's load, but they figured they'd bill me for it anyway...

Wow...

Salto freight bedford, ns beware does not pay

We took a load from AZ to ON early June 2012. Sent request for payment by e-mail after 60 days, no reply. Left many, many, many messages, never any reply from accounts payable.

Eventually went to dispatch, no reply for some time. Finally got a call back from dispatch about 10 days ago and was told that they are having financial difficulties and that they are looking for solutions...may have to go bankrupt.

He told us that we should get some news next week. Only problem is...they never answer messages. THEY ARE STILL POSTING LOADS. WE BELIEVE THAT THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF PAYING - $4700 DOWN THE TUBE...

Now is the time to contact the shipper/receiver for payment of your invoice. That might get the broker's attention and spur some activity. Don't give up the fight for your money too easily, it only encourages those "bad apples" out there.

Martinetav,

Report the incident to Link complaints right away.

And as Loaders noted - contact all parties involved regarding the non payment.

the LINK really doesn't care. As long as they are paid for their services that's all that counts. If they really did care they would block them because of the dishonesty that is quite obvious to us

We have been able to trace back to the head of Transportation Logistics for the company that the load belongs to. I got his e-mail address. We hope that they are responsible and will take this seriously.

Sent a detailed message to him with all of the paperwork. Got an OUT OF OFFICE message. We're keeping our fingers crossed that they are a responsible company and that they will take action.

martinetav we have always found it helpful to mention that they are legally responsible for the payment of the load to the actual carrier who hauled the load but then follow up that "I'm sure it's not going to go that far because I'm sure once you contact the company that isn't paying they will pay up". If you do it this way they cannot ignore it and blow you off so easily.

Salto

We did a load from Halifax to Concord in Jan.
We have been calling to get payment.
They will not answer the calls.
Why are they still on Link?

As DRC has stated on here many times if everyone does not do the complaint to Loadlink then they are not shut down, must be three complaints of non-payment then they get shut down. Second if you are not getting anywhere have you contacted everyone else listed on the BOL for payment?? This usually triggers payment or use the Bill of Lading Act if you are named on the BOL. Don't delay or wait for them get on everyone so you have better chance at getting paid...............Squeeky wheel gets the grease but longer you wait better chance they have of ripping you off!

These guys are much to smart for that. The bill of lading has Salto's name on it.

We have reported them to Core Logistics which I believe is EquiFax and I think we may be getting somewhere.

We might not get paid but at least they no longer have any credit on the LINK as of yesterday.

They were on Link today - tried to book a load.

Advised it would be COD - Visa only - they couldn't pay credit card due to card being maxed out....

Take that info for what you will....

got an email today with their new address and phone numbers...
as of Nov 1/12

Our new address is as follows:

Salto Freight Systems Inc
1402 Cobequid Road
Waverley, NS
B2R 1L9
Phone 902-442-9725 and Fax 902-442-9328

Beware, they have two different accounts on Link now. There's one that shows:
"Salto Freight Management" (shows credit info)
1402 Cobequid Road
Waverley, NS
ph: 902-482-1153
Fax: 902-442-9093

And now there is also:
Salto Freight Systems Inc. (shows NO credit info)
No Address listed
PH: 902-442-9725
Fax:902-442-9328

Both have the same MC# , Same Ins. broker (different policy #'s) And both have logged into link since yesterday.

And the address at 1402 Cobequid Road is just an old run down sheet metal shop.

Salto is still active on Link with today's date as their last login. Both accounts (Freight & Management).

They are booking freight I'd assume - and likely not one complaint sent into Load Link - or their account would be turned off.

I was just scanning the cheap & laughable board called U-Ship & seen this Salto Freight listed as a bidder of freight. I think but not entirely sure might be a numbered company also.
