Hey to all this is a proactive post on RV Transport in Saskatoon. We have some concerns they have invoiced us over their factoring company for a load they did not actually do for us. We had them hired to load in Dec of 2020. They broke down and cancelled on us in advance no biggie. WE moved the load with an outside carrier.
Yesterday Jan 19th we received an invoice from their factor company with the load tender from this load they broke down on and a POD from the same load but from April of 2020.
Mistake sure it can happen although seems odd.

The greater concern is they are not answering calls. They did respond to an email 1 time with a " thank you ". No response to any questions.

I will update further but if you are planning on either giving RV Transport a load or doing a load for them i would be concerned. They are operated out of a house in Saskatoon.

Yeah still no responses from RV Transport. He loves close to me i'll have to go stop by his house office and see if he's still sitting pretty.

A version of this cute little trick has happened before. Innocent broker gives the re-broker the load thinking that he is the actual carrier. Re-broker calls the shipper in the States, says he wants to set up the customs clearance and asks shipper to email him the BOL and customs paperwork.
After the shipper emails same, re-broker calls the original broker, tells him his driver has come down with appendicitis, and has to give the load back to the broker.

Once a reasonable number of days has passed, re-broker signs the earlier provided BOL as the consignee, and sells the invoice to the factoring company.
By the time the factoring company knows, the re-broker has done this a dozen times.

Every system has loopholes - maybe go back to the day where the person who delivers gets handed a check/draft and that's it

Reminds me of the “old “ days. Went to the Food Terminal to pick up payment for a load of tomatoes and was given the only 1000 dollar bill I have ever seen. Never before and never since.
