Hi All,

Run away as fast as you can. Picked a shipment for us in Wisconsin on July 25 for delivery in Halifax by July 29. On July 27 we were given a delivery eta of July 28. On July 28 we were told now July 29, which was OK. On July 29 we were told 10 minutes away, never did show up. when we tried to call we received an email saying they were being audited and not allowed to answer the phone by the auditor................hmmmm. Never heard of that when we have been audited. July 30 we are now told the truck is broken down in Montreal the day after is was 10 minutes away from delivery in Halifax. Lie like a rug RS Toor does. Shipper has now called and one of their trucks spotted an abandoned trailer with a genset on it, at scale in Wisconsin, waiting to see if this is our load. Lesson learned....just because you are desperate to move a load best not use an unknown carrier on an important or any shipment. RS Toor is the type of people that make truckers of their descent(like the ownership of out company who do things right) look very bad.

On the DNU, hope we find our genset.

Almost used them... Gave them a load in the afternoon for P/U the next morning. Called in the morning to check that they're online to pick up... dispatch says "we're not doing your load now... we found another load that pays more than yours... If you can pay an extra 300.00 we can change back to your load."

Um... No.

Disabled permanently in our system.

I have to admit, I can appreciate the honesty there though!!
Usual reasons are: My outbound got cancelled, truck is being reloaded, driver had a baby parked the truck and flew home, truck has been vandalized, driver refuses to go to your shipper, driver has a dog in the cab and your shipper won't allow them on site, truck broke down...

I find a slight increase in 'carrier cancellations' in the last 30 days, it would be refreshing to at least get an honest reason why. Then again, the reason isn't really relevant when it's at the pickup apt time, or even same day. It's why we keep detailed track of cancellations and advise carriers if they are not honouring their commitments. I've noted that for all the carriers that I've sent them details of how many shipments they've done vs. the few cancellations they tend to be surprised we know, surprised we rate them partially on those percentages... Then they usually never give back another for a while.

RS Toor, we don't have them set up (and will not be if dispatch asks about booking their equipment).

Keep well,
Mike

I can appreciate a carrier wanting to maximize revenues... just as a broker (or any other business) does. The thing is... If we hadn't called to trace we might not have known until it was too late in the day to recover. I doubt they were going to call us to say they were going to bail on the load. That's unprofessional... and that's why they're disabled.

Loads get cancelled for whatever reason. Just be professional... pick up the phone and let all concerned parties aware that things changed.

So the saga continues...............after the alleged breakdown in Montreal we were given the driver's cel number on August 4. When we contacted the driver he said he just picked up the load in Laval PQ. When asked when he would deliver he said call back tomorrow. Keeping in mind this was loaded at Milton WI July 26 destined for Halifax NS 1784 miles, an easy 4 day run. Well tomorrow has come and when contacting the driver he asked who I was and hung up the phone and has not answered since. We contacted RS Toor once today by blocking our number and they said they cannot get ahold of the driver as he must be in a bad cel reception area. We advised his dispatcher that there is a crane booked to unload their truck at 9am Thursday August 6, 13 days after pick up.......did not seem to make a difference to the "oh well" dispatcher. Laval to Halifax 800 miles should not be an issue from Tuesday am to Thursday am.

RS Toor not answering blocked call now. We have emailed them and advised that if not on site to deliver August 6 then we will have no choice but to report the cargo stolen, for all the good that will do. Historically from past experience the police are not really good or interested in finding stolen loads unless they trip over the thief in a seatbelt check or speed trap.

I even found the owner Ranbir Toor on Linkedin and sent a message to him, Ranbir Toor who is also associated with Royal Star Realty but no surprise he has not responded.

I cannot believe or understand how a trucking company can do business like this or sleep at night. Many impure thoughts of revenge, retaliation and extremely bad luck towards RS Toor have crossed my mind, ones that I cannot put in writing for fear of being charged myself. All I can do is broadcast the "very excellent service and communication" of RS Toor on sites like this.

Stay tuned........................

Sounds like a nightmare... Thanks for spreading the word... I know this company is rather disorganized and confused, but this is beyond that...

Hope you find your load.

Sadly, there are many carriers like this and they simply don't give a sh*t because tomorrow they will file for bankruptcy and re-open next week with a new name and new "owners" (maybe a cousin, neighbour, in-law, etc...)

Also, right now the owner is probably making more money in real estate than in trucking so why should he care?

The no so excellent adventure is finally over, cargo delivered in Halifax this morning 14 days after pick up. RS Toor dispatch begged us not to report the unit stolen yesterday and promised it would be on site last night. I will add that they were so very apologetic and had even commented they do not expect to be paid. My first thought is not to pay them anything but they did provide a service and the cargo arrived intact albeit very late and not without more drama than there should have been. I will consult with our client with regards to extra costs incurred such as crane call out charges and a discount of the freight bill, thus end up paying the carrier something. Nothing in life and business is free.

All that said RS Toor will remain on our DNU list for eternity. Good that it is all done now and I can start my vacation today without this on my agenda.

Glad to hear that your whole ordeal is finally over. I don't understand why it takes threats of criminal charges for someone to do the job that they are being paid to do! It boggles my mind and I guess I will never understand.
After all the extra costs and charges, I'm surprised that even one penny would be left over.

Wow! The things you find out about when you return from a few weeks vacation! It seems that we had almost the same problem with these idiots earlier this month. Alleged breakdowns, unable to locate driver, etc., etc, resulting in a very late delivery with various associated back charges involved. In addition, they have bounced around between factoring companies, including submitting the same invoices to 2 different factors. If ever there was a company to place on the DNU list.....this is the one! As a side note, I have to get better internet at the cottage so that I can access Inside Transport and try to stay a step ahead of scumbags such as RS Toor.

RS Toor has been in our system since Feb 2014, never thought to check here for info.
They were scheduled for a rounder pick up yesterday going to Chicago, after hours couldn't reach last night, freight was never picked up, still not answering today. On our DNU list
