FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAD RECIEVED BAD CHEQUES FROM HOWARD ROCKMAN I HAVE SOME NEWS FOR YOU. WE ALL KNOW THAT IT IS FRAUD TO WRITE A BAD CHEQUE. HOWEVER WE ALL COME TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AT THE FOLLOWING EMAIL AND THEY WILL INVESTIGATE. PLEASE SEND EMAILS TO j.lefebvre@spvm.qc.ca SHE STATED TO ME THAT SHE WOULD PASS ALL THE INFORMATION TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT. QUEBEC ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TAKE THIS OFFENCE VERY SERIOUSLY.
 
Rockman

Every load is double brokered we checked with the shippers after his checks bounced. But he just bought a new Harley with everyone’s money.

If anybody is interested the Mercantile act does work, We did 2 loads for Rockman in January 2010 and did not get paid from them , after numerous calls and excuses then not returning our calls, we contacted the buyer of the shipments and notified them of our issues with Rockman. We finally did get our money from the consignee after sending them a copy of ther Mercantile act and explaining that we would pursue this in small claims court including them on the suit under the Mercantile act , So there is hope for honest carriers that try to get dooped by these Bums such as Rockman
 
I tried the cell phone but his mailbox is full. Called 1-514-422-1084 (1 digit off old number...) and asked for accounting. I was told that the invoice I am looking for payment on is a different division of Rockman but I can fax it. Howard is there and owns the joint - LOSERS IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! I have their fax #1-514-422-0008 if anyone is interested.

Hi DWC,

Can you post a copy of the act, and point out which line/paragraph can be used for our purposes. We're trying to collect from a consignee after Northwind closed on us.

Here is my suggestion to all of you.

If a broker doesn't pay you, bill the shipper, receiver, 3rd party if applicable and surety bond if applicable.

You will get something stirred up for sure!

rockman

we did load for rockman in may.kept calling and same old answer,will call back.finally recived letter that it's transport rockman which is not rockman.but same phone and fax numbers on load sheet.called consignee in ab but no support from them.shipper is case hollan out of ga. does any body dealt with case or holland before.any help would be appreciated
 
Sounds like the typical channel that Rockman would get freight from ... letting Evans feel they were the trucker but putting the bag over their heads!!!
 
Is this the final chapter with Rockman or what?

Many carriers lost money with this Rockman and it is very unfortunate. This should be a lesson to everyone, say NO to double brokered freight. And for all those US brokers that didn't care about their loads being double brokered by scum - after being warned about the risks - I can't help but feel that some of them (US LOAD BROKERS) deserved this and everyone should be after them to get their money back.

Justice must see the light of day but like so many other pieces of work in this industry, Howard will probably find a trick, a loophole for all of this intentional fraud. This was years in the making and purchasing a french named transport company (TR. DENIS CYR) certainly facilitated this scheme for just a little longer. This man truly had fraud on his mind but don't be fooled, he was not alone. The offspring of Rockman can be found all over postings on Loadlink, be extra cautious!

Those that were involved that wish to clear their name can perhaps do the right think and denounce what happened and join the investigation.

For all the hours of work that were put in by truckers and dispatchers over all these years, from an exchance rate at the time of 1.60 +/-, double brokers were laughing all the way to the bank while we were witnessing guys (owner operators) just parking it - especially when fuel spiked. When double brokering was less profitable, Howard and his bandits did the most despicable thing of all, they pulled a well coordinated bankruptcy.

Rockman Transport

Howard has informed me that Rockman Transport and Transport Denis Cyr are going into bankruptcy. But Rockman Trucking is still under operation. Howard has his hand in all the above companies. Beware.
 
Montreal Police Fraud Dept (SPVM)

Station 5 has been is now referring calls on this issue to

Police de Montréal (section fraude) 514-280-3131

OR 514-280-2222 preferably according to someone I spoke within the SPVM
Any information that may be helpful should be referred to this office. My experience with local law enforcement with such issues has been futile for many years and I have been accustomed to being frustrated however I don't know what else to suggest to the growing number of victims emailing me.

I'm starting to believe Maclean's magazine made some good points in their issue about Quebec

We need to fix these problems somehow, if politicans can't do it how can we depend on law enforcement, private industry or citizens!

Fraud

From what I see here , there must be several hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of freight in question.

I fully disagree with your comments about the local police. From my experience they can be very helpful, and in my case it took 6 years to recoup a hefty sum in the 5 figures. All this with the help of the LOCAL Surete Du Quebec office.

What I did is put together a very convincing document of about 200 pages clearly establishing fraud. In my case there were several loads involeved and I could prove continuity.

For anything fruitfull to happen in this case, you will require the co operation of several carriers that got hurt to get together and present their case together.

I sincerely hope that someone can take on the task on your behalfs.
