Take all they can get and back to India?? Sure sounds like they are trying to get around the courts taking cheques to Money Mart. Probably illegal in the courts eyes IMHO.Just received a call from Money Mart in Hamilton, they are trying to cash Renson's cheque at their location and they are looking for us to confirm our cheque #. Seems really shady.
Any suggestions what we should do? I can't really stop them from using Money Mart but I also want to protect myself in the event they claim that we didn't pay them.
Tell Money Mart you have to look into it and get back to them in a month or so. Your not refusing to pay you have to check to ensure nothing illegal is going on. Or they can go to the bank and deposit itJust received a call from Money Mart in Hamilton, they are trying to cash Renson's cheque at their location and they are looking for us to confirm our cheque #. Maybe drive by their location and see if the gates are locked and there is a notice of a receiver involved. The receiver is the person that should be notified.Just received a call from Money Mart in Hamilton, they are trying to cash Renson's cheque at their location and they are looking for us to confirm our cheque #. I called the local Money Mart. It can be done but the business papers, incorporation documents, IDs have to be provided along with invoices. That all goes to corporate who will review the data and if all looks above board the cheque is cashed. I assume they are looking at PPSA records to see if AR is liened (which it almost always is)Maybe drive by their location and see if the gates are locked and there is a notice of a receiver involved. I don't know how Money Mart would be able to cash a cheque made to a business. If that was the case people would be stealing cheques all over the place and walking them down to Money Mart.
