has anyone had any recent history with them in terms of service etc - Torbram Rd, Caledon

Fairly good service, 9/10 on time, 5/10 for communication. We dealt with them a lot during 2022. Once the market turned I did find them try to go after some of my customers, so becareful.

Been working with them for a while, usually send them some inbound from the east coast. they did really well on a lot of them. Only had one issue on last min cancellation but gave them another chance and they did pretty good.

In general never really have had issues with them, pretty good company. Just updates are kind of hard to get updates.

Glad I searched here. Personal encounter with a R GILL unit on Monday. Approx. 4pm, HWY 22X and TWP 791, Indus AB intersection. I was driving my personal vehicle, on my way to visit my son. HWY 22X speed limit is 100km/hr, however in AB, typically 110 is normal. I was turning north off of 22X (east) with a turn lane at intersection. R Gill unit rolled through their stop sign and pulled directly in front to head east. Good thing I watch out for crap drivers as I am a 20 years deep in the industry. Tried to call all numbers, dispatch, safety, sales, all with same result. No answer, or mail box full. This is not the only carrier that I see at this particular intersection doing the same thing. We all need to do better to be safe.

Next time skip the waste of time trying to get a hold of dispatch or safety. Just call 911 and let them sort it out. Hopefully you have a dash cam to prove your point. Hopefully enough phone calls to 911 will result in some more enforcement in the area.

No dash cam sadly, maybe time to install one on my old girl :) Was too busy avoiding tbone to note unit or license.

Stop signs at this speeds limits so 20th century.

Time for roundabout looong overdue.
Obviously you've never been on this 2 lane highway Igor. Nothing wrong with this rural highway across bald ass prairie. 100% on the driver!!! Same shit everyday since the highway was built. But, it's by far the best way out of Calgary for eastbound trucks.
Same as southern Ont, including the GTA.....cops can't be everywhere.

I'm not expecting them to be everywhere, all the time, but some visibility would be nice. You don't see them anywhere. Not enough enforcement is being done. Bad drivers need to be ticketed and then ticketed drivers/companies need to be processed accordingly. If there is a bad trend, or a long history, a review should be completed. If it's a one off, then so be it - the driver learned a lesson. 100% win/win for everyone.

They where all over our county last weekend for Friday 13th I seen 6 between Oxford Hills GC and town. Then all over town all weekend. Most cops ever in the area I can remember as have went weeks without seeing a cop in Norwich and we have a substation.

The only time I see OPP around here is when they fly by my place doing 120+ in a 60 with lights and sirens. Not to worry, they're only doing about 20 more than the rest of the traffic here in the 60km/hr zone.
Two years ago we had a lady pass on the left of our tractor/trailer, on a double solid yellow line, in a 60 zone, while the truck was turning left into our place. After our truck clipped her Mercedes she said 'I thought I could get around him before he made the turn left' Our driver got charged for not maintaining his lane/ not yielding. OPP said that he should watch to ensure nobody is passing before leaving his lane during a left turn. A stupid technicality that was applied to the wrong person. The Mercedes driver was not charged.

You are right, @Grandpa , I haven't been on THIS particular stretch. Although, I had my fair share of the travelling for money in my past 30 years of commercial driving experience.
My post was no excuse for a mistake, but a reasonable and convenient solution adopted worldwide.
There still will be fender-benders and side swipes, but nothing is an idiot proof.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend, everyone!
