PUNU Transport - good?

I think you're talking about Pannu Transport which was a legit carrier that indeed did go bankrupt I believe last summer. This Punu one is something different.

PUNU and PANNU two different company
PANNU went Bankrupt
PUNU is still around latest news ray and his family sold and moved out west.

Punu Transport....

My saga commenced 01/12 and ended at 8:20pm PT 01/21 - I should feel so honoured!

But not before I had several stories - truck was caught behind accident in Northern, On on 01/13, then it was del'g Delta BC Mon am, and then suddenly in Winnipeg broken down due to fire (!!?) on the same day; in CGY Tuesday for delivery, Regina Wednesday being repaired (I called every repair place in Regina), and in various places in BC on Thursday. it was spectacular how this truck managed to criss cross the country - better than the Olympic torch! It arrived at my delivery finally with manager of casino in Squamish waiting for him. My rec'r did confirm name on side of door - and sent photos - it was at least a PTI truck doing the delivery. And of course he blocked the cab of the truck from going anywhere with his p/u truck. Thankfully my customer and their customer were wonderful through it all.

I took back the Punu rate $850.00 for costs incurred (documented by work crews waiting, etc), I have a new invoice from them with this reduction. Ray and Jay and all of their brothers and sisters and wives, and suddenly a baby was born in the middle of it all - the stories were endless really!

But in the end I accomplished the following:
They were removed from Link (Thanks Claudia)
They are being carefully watched by MTO Carrier Enforcement
Durham Region Police Carrier Fraud Div.
Peel Region Fraud Div.
My good friend Bill Tackaberry / Frate Savers & NTBA
Toronto Transportation Club
Markel Insurance - their agent - and you know - I was about to file a claim against them for lost freight - surprisingly easy I might add....
And all of my friends I spoke with along the way trying to find my freight

I was busy... Plus now all of you on Inside Transport!

It is up to us to be moderators as well within the industry. We need to be diligent and stop the bad people. My customer was bowled over by what I did for them - and thankfully I looked like a champion to them - but I do not wish to relive this uncertain hell!

Wow!!! what a saga.... all the things that MIGHT happen to a whole fleet in a 12 month period, happening to 1 truck in 1 trip.... thanks for taking the time to inform us :)

Update on my Punu saga, still trying to collect on an invoice from June 15/09.

I was in Brampton yesterday so I decided to have my AP call Punu so that I may pick up the cheque in person.

My AP talks to David Singh who laughs at her and says he has no money to pay us. Keep in mind the invoice is for a whopping $105.00. My AP tells David that I am in the area and will be stopping by to pick up a cheque in 10 minutes. He then laughs again and says he is not there and he has no intention of ever paying us our $105.00.

He can't believe we are "so desperate" for $105.00. Well Mr. Singh, it's not the $105.00 we are desperate for, it is the principal of the matter. My company did a call for you 9 months ago for which we have not been paid. You can't walk into a restaurant and walk out on a $105.00 bill, what makes you think you can do it to a trucking company?

I will now make every effort possible to get my $105.00, just because of your arrogance and ignorance, if and when I do finally get paid, I will then donate the $105.00 to the efforts in Haiti, because THEY are the ones desperate for money, even a measly $105.00 which your deadbeat ass can't seem to come up with after 9 months.

A matter of principal

I agree with you MyTrucksMyRates on standing on principal, and I knnow that the people of Haiti are in need right now. But how about $50. of what you collect, you donate to Insidetransport to keep it being the best general protection you can get from the dishonest and incompetent operating in our marketplace?

I couldn't agree with you more - it doesn't matter the amount - it is the principle. You nailed it on the head here - you can't walk out on a Kelsey's tab but for whatever reason delinquents have this notion that they can pull this in transportation. I have no idea where this "industry" label came from - bills are bills - doesn't matter the amount.

I chased a similar account a couple years ago - small amount - but our warehouse did the guy a big extra favor with loading/unloading assistance. He said he would be back to take care of the COD invoice - was going to the bank...drove off and never came back! I hounded him every single day. He quickly became my new "pet project" and whenever I had 5 minutes to spare - I called his cell and left message after message - just to clog up his voicemail. I then made some other calls - found out where he was renting space for his shop. I made a call to the landlord/property owner and let them know - gave a heads up that he couldn't afford to pay us $187 - skipped out on a COD and stung a "good deed" done on our part. I left them wondering if this guy was in financial trouble or was going to skip out on his rent...

It took a long time to get it but I did...the trick is finding just the right "nerve" to hit with these deadbeats. With Punu - he just wants you to go away - DON'T. I feel your frustration - it almost makes you want to send legal papers and spend money on your end - just so you feel better!

Stay on him! I wish you luck!!! Keep us posted.

any succeess collecting from these clowns....I am going to keep calling 905-451-0662, all hours day and night to encourage him to pay up. I invite all of you to join me
