Good morning all,

Happy Friday!!

Make record of:
1458377 Ontario Ltd.
dba Prompt Logistics
160 Tycos Drive
Unit 2-138
Toronto ON
416-256-9000

Contact: Dave Cullen

Has handled 2 shipments for us this week (not really):

I've confirmed that the second one was resold (to Atlas SN Inc. - Elk Grove Village IL) then resold again (to Global Transport - London ON). Thankfully the shipper took the time on the second shipment to check the side of the truck and noted to us that it differed from the carrier we advised was coming in.

When originally confronted with the company name discrepancy we were told that this was an owner operator who worked exclusively for 'Prompt Logistics'. We were even sent over insurances and MC#. Of course Global is a carrier with over a dozen trucks that run state side...

I've spoken to the hauling carrier and will be working with them directly (thanks Global Transport, you guys are great!!) if they are not compensated by Prompt.

Ahem, if you picked up a TL out of IL on Monday this week for this company, please give me a ring. We should talk! I'm still trying to find out who actually handled the load. I'll inspect the paperwork well, if it doesn't yeild anything, I'll speak to the customs broker they may have record if the PARS I receive is altered of who actually cleared the border.

Thanks all, keep well,

MikeJr

Update

Dave @ Prompt advises that he is an 'agent' acting for Atlas SN?

Spoke to Joe @ Atlas SN (he called me from a number with different area code than ATlas SN) and he says they have been working together for 7-8 years and that he intends to honour his commitment to Global.

Interesting. Still no warm fuzzy feeling here.

This is a multilple brokering situation, will see if Gloabl gets paid by Atlas SN. If not, we'll take good care of them.

Still smells real fishy...

Keep well,

Mike

Prompt Logistics......doesnt sound good to me at all. "Agent" nice wording on their explaination with regards to their actions with you MikeJr.....not a good feeling at all.

We've never really liked Atlas SN either. I had a feeling something was going on, never caught them doing anything but didn't like the service so I asked dispatch to stop using them.

Great news!

I've managed to discover, locate and contact the 'second' carrier that was rebrokered our shipment.

Both transporting carriers are now contacted, both were tendered shipments for greater values than we contracted with Prompt, both know to contact me 'if' they do not receive compensation for their services (as opposed to going to the shipper or consignee as that could be a hassle).

There is a happy ending to these situations when we all work together to determine what happened and what the next best steps are to protect all those involved.

Note -not trying to spam this thread, just trying to offer updates.;)

Keep well,

Mike

Does anyone have current payment experience or dealings with this company. They are noted as double brokers - but no payment history.

Would be appreciated.

Thank you
