We booked this carrier to pick up this morning at 6 am with a 53ft Rolltite.
Specifically booked it to be the first thing the driver did in the morning (so he wasn't "held up at a delivery")

Finally showed up at 10:30. I got multiple excuses...from being held up at a delivery, to showing up late for work, to being in traffic...lies after lies.
Also showed up with a 53ft Flatbed with no tarps.

First time using them, will be our last - moving them over to the DNU list.

Question ... not being an ass or anything ... but why did you keep them on the load then? If nothing was going as it should right from the start, it's a sure bet it will end up that way as well. On top of that, you jeopardized your customer's freight. How did they feel about it?

Our experience a few weeks ago when recovering for the same customer, resulted in the “recovery” company being later than the original company would have been. This instance was due to the driver having a delivery prior to loading, which is what prompted to ensure there were no deliveries prior to pick up this morning.
Recovery for a local driver in the Hamilton area at 8 am when we were told the driver was on route, just getting into Oakville didn’t make sense. Anyone showing available on the load board was in Toronto (Mississauga/Brampton). I was calling constantly for location updates - he was moving, but told he was in traffic. At this time we were still under the impression he had the right equipment - we weren’t told of the wrong equipment until the customer told us when he showed up. Customer chose to load the open deck with no tarps rather than waiting for a recovery.

Sorry but I agree with Michael, I would have told them to leave and told the client that we are not confident in their abilities if they can't provide the right equipment and are lying off the get go, to actually let them handle your customers property after that could result in a huge liability.

Shipper is our customer. They were given the option to load or wait for a recovery option, we were sourcing options prior to the customer making a decision, but it would be an additional 2-3 hours for the appropriate equipment to make it to site. At no point did we make a decision without the customer being consulted. Load is now delivered without further issue.
