Ontario to Tijuana, MX

The good folks at SGT can help you I'm sure.

Not sure if they're still doing the Mexico thing... but "Holmes Freight" in Brampton might be able to do this also.

I'll second Holmes Freight Lines - 905-458-1144.

and add: Country Transport - Jeff - 1-519-539-8801

Keep well,

Mike
Oh yeah... I forgot about Country. Good call Mike Jr. (pardon my 50 year old memory... I'm sure it would've came to me eventually).

No good..

Unfortunately Holmes must transfer the freight and Country doesn't do the coast, on Laredo.

I'm pretty Sure SGT is the same (Laredo only), but haven't called yet.

I'd say you're probably better off to sell it as intermodal if the customer can handle the extra transit time.

But if OTR, I would maybe add Celadon and New Malwa to the mix.

everytime we quote Mexico stuff it is always transferred at least once and is not covered under any cargo insurance unless we purchase excess insurance, etc.

Charette

Try Charette out of St Martine. They also go under RPR.

I know that the owners daughter married the son of a Mexican trucking company's owner. They work together on freight in and out of Canada.

They may be cheaper than SGT.

There's very few companies that do not transfer at the Mexican border. Celadon services Mexico directly and apparently YRC and ABF does too.

I assume this is a truckload? YRC and ABF may be more appropriate for LTL. And I see Estes has a terminal in Toronto (did not know that) and they offer direct service to Mexico (and intra-Mexico shipments too).

I believe YRC, ABF, and Estes will ALL transload the freight, this is how their network is built, like Polaris or Bourassa, the freight is almost always transferred.

Don't know about Celadon, but it's probably the same with them too.

With Celadon, it's apparently not transferred.

There is actually no such thing as cargo insurance in Mexico ... so an advantage with intermodal is that while it's on the rail it is insured, so the risk is lower in that regard.

We usually put the onus on the shipper to insure the cargo in Mexico.
