Ontario judge rejects $2.2M in lien claims tied to Trans Emerge receivership

It was not a win, it was a proper judgement. If you read the case, the claimant is bordering on fraud. Mr. Binapal of Trans Emerge had a 'non-arms length' business relationship with Mr. Mander of Hub. You cannot buy the shares of trucking company, make up a bunch of repairs from a repair shop and then charge storage. This was a failed attempt to find a way to siphon off money out of secured vendors by trying to make themselves a secured vendor through the Repair Lein and Storage Lein acts.
They're lucky they got off with a 310,000k indemnity cost - they should have both been put in jail.

If you want the synopsis of the case, here is the coles notes version of it.

The creativity and imagination displayed by some of these fraudulent actors is really amazing. Just imagine how successful they might have been had they applied those skills to running a legitimate business. Oh wait…..that also requires lots of hard work and usually quite a few years time.
