Good Morning Everyone,

Any experiences good or bad with these guys?

Nulogx Managed Services (Mississauga, ON) - broker

They have come into 2 of our customers, promising to "re-invent the wheel" and dramatically reduce the customer's freight costs. That on its own is enough to catch the interest of upper management, who at the best of times possess very limited knowledge about transportation. They have a multi pronged sales approach. Firstly, they can offer a simple freight audit and payment system where the carriers bills are sent to them and checked against the rates you have on file with your customer. They then cut the cheque to you. This works pretty good for all concerned and we do have a customer using that service with no ill effects. The more insidious approach involves them sending out RFQs to all of your customers freight suppliers. This will include all the lanes your customer has. Everyone now bids on the lanes they want. There will be a great deal of talk about service levels during this process, things like, loyalty, partnerships, co-efficiencies, synergies, all the other buzz words. In actual fact however, it is nothing more than a race to the bottom. The lowest bidder gets the business regardless of past performance or commitment to service. I have no idea of what Nulogx charges for this service that could just as easily be performed by one or two first year rate clerks. The lowest bid wins regardless. You might be able to detect my dislike of their business plan.

I've watched them come in and undercut a bunch of business we had for years as a carrier with their buzzwords and promises over the last 5 years. To date, we've got all of the customers back at higher rates then before with the exception of one. As a load broker, I've not found them to deal with carriers with any sense of integrity, or with any commitment to honoring timely payables. Honestly, I can't imagine any reasons that carriers would want to work with them. Sadly, most customers will fall for their dog and pony show initially until they realize that its all show and no go,

Hello and good day,
we've been dealing with Nulogx for a while now, never had any problem with them. They seem to communicate well. The only thing is that they require original PODs and BOLs even if you send a crispy clear scan, they will not accept it. This issue adds a lot of waiting time, but they are fine, as far as we are concerned.

I am hearing more and more about companies wanting original PODs and or BOLs. Seems like there have been issues in past with doctoring PODs? Must be the reason.

I used to think that way too, and part of that is true, but then I found out that some and I repeat 'some' do it to buy time to delay their payment to carriers. By the time the driver send his originals and by them receiving the original in the 'turtle mail that we have, that's almost another month of the money in their account and not yours.

I always found it strange that invoices and PODs took typically 14-21 days for Canada Post to deliver.
