Not Recommended – Smart Route Logistics

Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend being careful when working with Smart Route Logistics.

They repeatedly ask for loads, but after booking and completing the load, they have attempted to approach the customer directly for a setup. In our experience, they take quick payment for the load and then try to use the customer information for their own business relationship.

The representative Gurpreet Dass has contacted us multiple times asking for loads and often acts as if he knows everything, but unfortunately, we have not seen the professionalism or business ethics expected from a reliable transportation partner.

We have warned them twice about this issue, but the concerns continued.

For us, protecting customer relationships and maintaining confidentiality are extremely important. Based on our experience, we will not be providing them with any future loads and would advise others to do their due diligence before working with them.

One of the very first hints that should tip you off to a lack of professionalism is the info provided in their email signature.
The rep does not have a personal email pointed directly to the individual - ie rep@smartroute.ca
They have two email addresses - the first being a free account, the second is the generic one off of the web site.
Office phone number on the web does not match the one in the signature.
Google map the address which points to a repair shop of the same number.

Are these people a repair facility dabbling in trucking or the other way around? Everything in this signature screams that this individual is not a permanent, long time employee, and can disappear without a trace.

**BTW....do not web surf to the website that is on the sign. It will set off all the anti-virus systems you have installed.

But before we go throwing them completely under the bus, a further deep dive into the company:

They do have a CVOR and actually a truck shown in the google street view.

They registered as a corporation on Dec 2018.
The directors are

FMCSA has them listed as MC1412489 / USDOT3864033 - active since July 2024
Only two inspections both of them really old and nothing current.


So in reality, they are an active company for a number of years, they have had lots of time to clean up their image. They should have learned long ago to avoid going to the customer of their customer.
