Normerica Logistics Corp

I must get 100 calls a year with people looking for me to do loads for them as they seem to go through trucking and logistics companies quite frequently. One of my clients would send me in there to load from time to time and never ready the first date promised.

In the next edition of "How low can you got" with the rate and "how long can you wait" to be paid.

Help me understand this a bit. We have recently hauled a load out of Normerica Inc. in Brantford to a big box store in US for a broker in Toronto. We've had limited exposure to this broker, a couple loads in the past 5 years. We've always been paid but with lots of follow up.

Should I be concerned that this was double brokered through Normerica Logistics? Should I be concerned that Normerica Inc does not pay the broker?

In my experience, Normerica will pay a broker long before it pays a carrier. However, if the broker is small, and/or new, and/or new to Normerica, they [Normerica] could very well decide to screw them over.
Personally, I don't mind hauling for Normerica, but only if I am doing it for a large load broker with a great track record, and lots of depth.
On the other hand, Normerica isn't usually too happy to see me pull in their driveway ... LOL
Apparently this is being discussed in another thread as well ...

We get emails from normerica to haul loads for them, but we never touch it. Not worth it!

Normerica in Brantford has a sign on their wall outside the shipping office saying that they were looking for carriers to take their freight. Guess they didn't find any takers.

Yikes. Was about to do a load for them. Better cancel now then based on comments above.
