WOW! this is the worst carrier i have ever done business with.
I booked them on a load a few months ago , and then cancelled it as I decided to move it intermodal. they confirmed load had been cancelled but showed up and picked it up anyways and informed me that they were loaded once they got 3 hours away... they steal loads! and then I said I'm not paying full price and their owner agreed on a payment of 800.00 ... then 2 months later some guy calls threatening to hold other freight for us until we pay them in full. said they will not send any PODS for previous loads either... be aware guy, this is a bottom feeder company that lie cheat and steal

UPDATE: THEY STOLE ANOTHER LOAD!!!! They picked up in Calgary and were supposed to deliver on the 18th, told us the load delivered and then sent us a message holding it for ransom.... DO NOT USE THEM!!!! THEY ARE CROOKS WILL HOLD YOU UP FOR PAYMENT

We have called the RCMP and have reported the trailer stolen

Next Generation Express LTD
6150 HIGHWAY 7 SUITE 6 ,
WOODBRIDGE ON
519-696-2748

Absolute crooks, this is the 2nd load they have done this to us on,.... holding it ransom for 2000$ cash or they will not even tell us the location of the trailer.. disgusting....Thanks Next Gen, Merry Christmas.....

no we had it resolved and they agreed to a deduction on rate, now they grabbed this load and are demanding up front payment and the deduction off the last one... just found out the trailer is in Brandon MB, RCMP are heading over there

Reason for question: there's also a Next Generation from somewhere in 519. Not sure if they are still in business.

Yet surprisingly they still manage to have a 3.5 star rating. 5's and 1's will get you there I guess. Seems like they are notorious at poor service.

I remember many years ago there was a Next Generation Express with a 519 # that provided incredible service to Michigan. It's been years since I've used them. Not sure if these are the same guys.

I just got off the phone with Mike Bal, the owner, he told me i know what I need to do if I want my freight released..., I asked him where the trailer was he said I won't tell you anything until you e-transfer us .... I then told him I was recording the call and he hung up...what a brutal business and a shady owner... we have no choice but to give them what they are asking for, but PLEASE GUYS, NEVER USE THEM!

Did you call their insurance company to report the load stolen?

Absolutely. Step #1 whenever you have a load held hostage situation. Call their insurer and report the load stolen/missing, plus contact your insurer as well. Perhaps if they call the carrier, the carrier might become a bit more reasonable. Holding freight hostage is such a chicken s**t way to settle an outstanding freight bill. If the aggrieved party is sure of their position and confident in their case, go to court for your money. Inconveniencing an innocent party (the owner of the goods) is unethical, cowardly and extremely unprofessional. If you feel that bold and big time bad ass......kidnap the guy‘s children for goodness sakes!

I understand that this is closing the door after the horse is out of the barn but... How did they get past your compliance guy, sniff test or whatever?

Nawk, what is this Checklist ? It looks very informative? can you point me in the right direction on how to get it?

Yea, they gave us 3 references who they must have done a good job on, everything checked out from what my compliance guy has said

If you can't make up 3 people that will give you a good reference then you really have a problem. Unless I get the references from this site I don't give a moments thought about calling the people the vendor recommends as most of the time its 3 relatives on the in-law(outlaw) side.

Are references checked regularly? I have never had a broker/customer tell me someone called to check references - obviously they know I list them

We asked for references that we actually know and trust and if they cannot even come up with one then no sense in continuing the conversation.
