MPs seek ethics probe into CTOA’s political access

While I feel that the CTOA does not have has the right focus, I don't see how being at a swearing in ceremony, or having (paying) for a speaker, who is part of the government, to speak at their function, would constitute an ethics investigation. I speak to my MP and MPP on a regular basis - I hope I'm not going to get rooked into another audit.
Now if there was a closed-door meeting with Trudeau, and they were not a lobbyist at the time, then that should be disclosed.

Not asking for an ethics investigation for Ford and agree if there was closed meetings - it should be disclosed and proper protocol followed (no matter the party). Calling your MP or MPP is a bit different than the Premier being paid by a special interest group that's core focus is to undermine the tax code and promote illegal, societal-harming policy... I mean promote member interests. (if that's the equivalency you were making, forgive me if not).
