Does anyone else share my frustrations with deliveries into Metro Canada Logistics:

1. They never start unloading until close to the two hour mark, finish in 15 minutes so they avoid detention....and attempt to deduct if you are late for your appointment.
2. They always ask whether you can drop your trailer, and claim they are very busy. If perchance you give in, they wait 2-3 days to unload it.
3. They schedule delivery appointments every hour, even if it is an hour where they are scheduled for a lunch break. Once again, the same parameters as number 1 apply.

All new rates I quote into their facility, include a 100 dollar "supply chain inefficiency fee" on top of the negotiated transportation rate. If you deliver into their location, even if its for a load broker, I suggest that you also ask for this.
The only way that carriers will be successful in changing behaviors of inefficient organizations such is these is to demonstrate that there is a real cost added to their transportation by Metro Canada. If we simply absorb it as we have done, nothing will change.

cant do nothing about Metro

must charge broker b4 book a load TO METRO!!! extra 100-150$ that what i doo no pay extra , find another truck ,,, go to hell, brokers suck... they need as CARIERS!!!! NO PAY GOOD ??? well go and by truck, trl put your ass on it and deliver your frght your self!!!! SAY NO TO CHEAP FRGHT!!!!!! START CHARGE $$$$ , COM ON ....

SSalo, perhaps you should let us know which trucker your with so we can avoid calling you. I know I would certainly hate to force you to take freight from a broker like me, especially when you hate us so.

Karma......

Wow, that's a little harsh "keep on trucking" (and perhaps a little personal?) The only bitterness here is when comments like "brokers suck" are thrown out there, when i'd like to think the people participating on this forum are just the opposite and are here to ensure we work well as a team. Nothing i like more than a good relationship with my carriers, and nothing my trucking division likes more than good brokers who take care of their carriers. Fortunately we have that, with the great group of carriers and brokers we work with. I'm sure you'll agree as a trucker that if you don't like the rate or what is being asked of you, you don't take the load,( i know we don't) , and if you hate "brokers", well don't work with them.
P.S. (I agree that all supply chains should automatically be subject to add'l monies for almost always delaying the trucks).

i agree whole heartedly,we have to stop with the i'm the carrier therefore we are on top of the food-chain and the brokers are below them,i've been in this industry longer than most of the carriers i deal with.we are all trying to work together to get our jobs done.nothing more nothing less.

Ssalo, Ssalo

That is not the way to wheel and deal, it's all about attitude. If you have a great attitude and know how to deal with people you'd be suprised what you can get... It's all about a positive attitude my man... Sit back have a breather and deal with good brokers. You need to build rapoir and learn about who your dealing with. Chances are you're dealing with the nickel and dimers and not the diamond dealers, Keep on looking and keep the chin up.... As for metro - thumbs down - as a broker if my customer says it goes to metro I tell them that it is $50/hr starting at the appointment time which goes directly to the carrier, or else keep looking, I even offer Traffic Tech Montreal's Number if they don't like the terms. If they don't like my terms they can slug their wares else where. I have a reputation to uphold...
