Hello All!

Just a helpful tip about MERILIN LOGISTICS in Mississauga, ON.

I have given them multiple chances with shipments outbound to Western Canada and every one ended up being a nightmare. Their communication is poor, I could get no updates and TWO WEEKS LATER when my freight finally arrived at destination it was damaged, improperly decked, and missing peices that were never returned.

We are in process of a claim and I have lost my customer. Their reasoning was they were behind on insurance payments!!! Just goes to say that rates reflect service!!

Behind on insurance payments = non-compliant and lack of due diligence. I'd alert the authorities. Keeping insurance up-to-date is a requirement of keeping any kind of authorities. A call to the MTO carrier enforcement office would put that in order ha ha. That's a $5000 fine that they can't duck and if an MTO officer walked in, he'd write them up for it along with anything else they find.

Sorry to be a smart ass on a Friday afternoon but you say you gave them "multiple chances" and every one ended up being a nightmare"
After how many chances did you decide it might be better to pay a little more and use a carrier that wouldnt result in headaches and lost customers?
Doesnt sound like the old owl was very wise in his choices.

Exactly what I was thinking.....

Hello,

I understand that sometimes the transportation industry can be a little difficult (i e weather, break downs, drivers...) And their 'reasons' (aka excuses) sounded very ligitimate...I figured I would give them the benefit of doubt.... I love to pay good carriers but in this case it just was not in the budget, we all know how these things go...

sometimes it is better to lose a load than to do one and spend all sorts of time & money fixing it after the fact.

plus if any claims arise you will be in even deeper than you would have been had you turned down the load...

Wondering if anyone has any information on how Merilin pays their customers. We have a very old invoice and have been getting many excuses about being paid. Now I have a returned cheque and no one answering the phones over there.
