Watch out for MCM Transport.

We received a call from "Dave (the Dispatcher)" on some outbound loads from Montreal to the US. As we had never done business, we asked for his carrier package. While we were doing the set-up, none of his details (MC#, USDOT etc....) appeared on SAFER.

We then called his insurance company which answered "dispatch" and guess who - "Dave (now - The Insurance Agent)". He tried to play it off as the lines were crossed....

Address given:
MCM Transport
8325 rue du Crevsot
St-Leonard, QC
514-627-2437
514-635-6272
MC # 472571 (does not exist)
US DOT # 481395 (does not exist)

We contacted the local company whose identity they have assumed, it's a small company that has been in business for 30 years and only runs within Canada (No Mc or USDOT).

He also contacted me on a load I had out of Montreal yesterday. Right off the bat I had a bad feeling as he had to look up his telephone and his fax # and he was calling me from a cell phone with a 605 area code. Because I had a bad feeling I asked that he provided me with references which he could not.
Thankfully I decided not to use him. He did identify himeself as Sean.

One of our dispatchers keeps calling MCM - Dave asking him if he likes scamming people (just to mess with him).....Dave's response "At Least I'm Doing Something With My Life"

FYI Sean is not in today

I, too, was surprised to receive the above email.

Seems that he is switching names pretty fast.

That's what I got this afternoon:

The fraudulent carrier JGF Transport (tel. 514-516-4571, fax 514-635-6035) is now operating as MCM Transport, Anjou, QC, (tel. 514-627-2437, fax 514-635-6272) please act accordingly.

Regards.

LOL maybe my conversation with "JULIE" from link this morning lit a fire there. She called me trying to sell me an over priced subscription to e miler. I told her in no uncertain terms that if they did not clean up their act and get rid off the rip-off artists they allow on there I would be cancelling my subscription instead of buying more. Maybe LINK is finally getting the message they are not the only game in town.
