Maximum Logistics

same old habits

I was in contact early this morning with Landstar Logistics based in Salt Lake City, UT. They had a great paying load back into the Toronto area, I had no equipment. A few minutes later, the exact same load pops up with Maximum Logistics on Loadlink. The double-brokering continues but then again, what would you expect from the offspring of Ken Campbell.

Double brokering

 We too got caught with this company. Had no idea who it was for until we went to drop  the load and then they insisted we use their bill of lading.

Go figure - and 70 days still waiting for payment.

Did you finally get paid? I just did a load for them and I feel slightly concerned after reading these postings.

I wish we had of seen this thread earlier! Maximum double brokered our load last week and when we found out, we asked them for the PAPS (as we do on all loads) and they doctored the paperwork.

I am just reading the posts and I have a question? Why is a company allowed to be on Link with this many violations?

I appreciate the updates from this site, but the question still remains. Since we all are "members" of Link.... "If" a member of any organization is not "behaving" within the rules of standard conduct why do they get to remain a member?

Pretty simple really, they pay LINK and LINK lets them do whatever they want.

bull958,

This is not the case regarding Link.

They have proceedures in place for complaints. As noted on the forum numerous times - no one takes the time to contact Link and report on delinquents, double brokering or other misconduct. It is just easier to rant & rave about it....

Your comment is completely unwarranted.

Tuna Boat - you are "assuming" there are noted complaints regarding Maximum Logistics into Link. I don't see 1 post from any member stating they actually submitted a complaint via the proper channels.

That would be a start....

Sorry to upset you Accts.

It was not made as such to be unwarranted. I do in fact call in these complaints get the same response. Here is Link reply every time..... "It will be noted and this is a first offence". And I will continue to call in the complaints for any carrier operating under unethical conditions.

This is very much a Link issue if these offenders are repeat and by reading the thread, this company and some other companies are repeat offenders.

Any member of any organization who does not operate within rules they should be repremanded and then removed, and that goes for everyone in general not just the carrier in question.

Again, I did not mean to upset you.

Okay maybe my comment was a little offside but...
Link is in the business of making money and I don't hold that against them. While they may do some policing if there are enough complaints, there are still way too many companies with somewhat unethical business practises signing on everyday and have been for years. To say that Link does a good job of weeding out the bad apples is just not true.

Tuna Boat/bull958,

I agree with some of your rebuttles and comments. These kind of double broker/non payment scenarios are very frustrating and happen way too often to the "good apples" in this industry.

I hold Link to their 3 strike policy and expect follow ups - no matter where in the line I am as a complainer - either #1, #2 or #3. At the end of the day - all Link can do is shut off the broker's account. Link can't force anyone to pay. I am in this situation now myself with a delinquent broker. They have been shut off for 2 weeks - and still no payment in sight. But I am confident that when this broker scrapes up the money - as they rely on Link for daily use - we will eventually be paid. It is all a stepping stone process....

Do all you can to protect yourself in this industry. And hopefully all the "apples" you meet will be good ones - like Macs or Granny Smith's - with no worms....

Good replies from both of you....

Cash!!!!they pay that bill!!

So here is the deal. I book a load with Maximum Logistics, Donnie tells me it is one of his "owner operators". Get a call from Riviera Finance asking who I gave load to as it appears to be double brokered. I ask Maximum for copy of paps. I get a copy and funny enough the company that actually did the load last word is logistics. Donnie and his wife actually "whited out" the first word to make it look like it was them, therefore just seeing Logistics on the Paps. So, tampering with customs paps stickers, they also whited out everything on the bottom of the paper. I question them on it. So, I tell them that I am not paying them as the load was double brokered. Donnie informs me that this was an owner operator, however the company that did the load does not work for Maximum. Donnie keeps frothing at the mouth and tells me he has been in business for 25 years and has a good name and informs me that we have a bad one. He tells me that apparently I don't know what double brokering is. I ask him why he whited out the name on the paps etc and he tells me that he didn't want me to see who did it. I said then to him well I thought he was an owner operator why would you hide it? I also asked him why he tried to make like $1400 on the load. All the while I must note he is screaming his face off, laughing and calling me over and over a fat fn drunken pig. He repeats this several times. He also then screams that I had put him on this site and calls me all kinds of other names, which in fact this is the first time that I have put his name on this site. He screams at me and informs me that he is going to call all of our customers. So, if you want your load double brokered, threats of customers being called this is the company you should call. I'm sure Donnie will have something to say about this reply...but this isn't the first complaint about Maximum.

No answer to phone calls, no answer to emails. Story of a bad customer but will pay. It's been going on too long now.....owes $5600.

Could you afford to pay Ron, these collection guys don't come cheap, and for what it's worth you could likely do yourself with some integrity and firmness.
