Very frustrating experience today... tried to charge me for waiting time after one hour (scratched this on fax), and are now charging me $100.00 to deliver the freight at 6am vs "when he gets there...". Reported to Link as well. Their driver also managed to annoy my supplier so much he told him to get off of his property as he was sitting in the middle of their yard taking up space - perhaps after waiting time?
 
They have done two flatbed moves for me in the last month, picked up and delivered as scheduled with no problems, so far.

me too, i have used them 3 times in the last 3 months and no problems, called me on pick up and delivery and delivered as scheduled
 
Dealt with them about a year ago. Had a claim problem with chains not being strapped down. They worked through the claim with me and handled everything very proffesionally. Nothing but a good experience from me.
 
3 strikes and out

WE have used them for flatbed loads and in March we had to put them on our do not use list. After being told and having it marked on the load confirmations that our appointment times are strict appointments with a fifteen minute window and we require notification of late prior to appointment time in order to refrain from lates, they decided to show up late three times in a row in as many days. The second time we were asked not to use them anymore. After talking to our customer and getting them another chance, we advised Maxal of the importance of being on time, still they were an hour and a half late, with out explanation or prior notice.
 
Had to use them on an expedite to Nova Scotia - gave my client the lowdown from this site, but at the time no other options :( They kept stopping because according to the drivers, one of them couldn't eat while moving, but had to eat regularly. Eventually arrived at destination 5 hours late... too late to deliver. arranged for them to deliver 7am next morning. They couldn't do this as the truck wouldn't start. They called us to try & find a boost for them (wonder what was wrong with theit office on a Saturday morning???) My client went & retrieved the freight from the truck stop!! She advises me that the logo on the side of the truck is MTL Magna. Definately some questions to be answered on Monday morning!!

Spoke to Sam yesterday, and have to say that he seems very ethical & proffesional. He is trying to do what is right to ensure that our client is happy. It's a pity that he seems to be brought down by his drivers.
