Maisliner

Transnat / Boutin bought Maisliner - that's what the guy at Transnat told us yesterday.

I am assuming it was an "asset purchase" from the trustee. Customer list, web site domain, some equipment and anything else that is owned free and clear that they find value in. Unlikely they would buy a company in receivership, too many obligations. The receivers job is to liquidate as many assets as possible and use whatever funds to pay creditors. All perfectly legal as far I know.

Listen, these arsehols at maislin jerked me around with bullshyte, lies, excuses, unreturned calls, ignored emails for months; i would have preferred honesty....they deserve to go bankrupt. Its a shame that rich people like this get to screw over 31 pages of small guys, and the shame of it all is that they will probably be back in this industry.

The blame has to fall solely on the owner Jonathan Maislin. They went out of their way on January 20th to contradict our predictions that the company was going under. It seems to me that the final planning for this was done on end of January 13th. It's rather convenient when you time when your company goes bankrupt.

Well, if any of you are interested, PM me. We plan on bringing a lawsuit against him personally for fraud. The courts have been siding more and more with people being taken by fraudsters hiding behind pending bankruptcies while they continue to hire services and obtain goods with no intent to pay. People cannot hide behind the veil of a company as they used to and skip town with people's money. Its not an easy route to take, but we are prepared to put him in front of a judge and prove his empty promises were legit, or open his wallet and pay for his actions. This is a perfect example of pure and blatant fraud.

hmm, I wonder if he will still be welcome at the show in October http://www.surfacetransportationsummit.com/speaker/j-j-maislin-president-maisliner/

It seems like it is almost an advice from the trustee.... I have seen the exact same bullshit of a letter in a precedent bankruptcy of courtage FG. Once that kind of a letter is pulled out, back away and run! Simple as that. Whoever would put their trust in a 3pl company who's blatantly telling you I have no cashflow, it is already too late to comeback. Their customers will start receiving immediate phone calls, the trucking company will leave them, at least for some of them, and in the end, the effect of a letter like this would be simply to catch anyone fool enough to trust this. Less customers, less trucking company, usually doesnt solve cashflow problems, it make things worse.

Just got an envelope from MNP trustees - those buggers were granted an extension until April 7 to file a "final proposal"......real bunch of shyte bags

Just called Transat and they stated you want to speak to Transat Maisliner?

Very suspicious.

Yes, some of the former maisliner employees are over at Transnat. I was there. saw a french trucking magazine, address label said transnat-maisliner. Also, quite a few maisliner trailers parked in the yard. Still no news on their proposal. Anyone hear anything?

I was a small carrier on the list of creditors. I have not seen a cent and doubt i will.

We got an email from a brokerage contact at Maisliner last week (even from @maisliner.com) to move a regular shipment we used to do for them years ago, is it just trucking side that is closing?

Yikes... Based on what's been said in this thread, I would suggest they pay up front for any work...

If you haven't heard from them in a while and they have contacted you out of the blue, my guess would be that the carriers who usually do that run are probably owed money by Maisliner...

I just got a letter today from the trustee, MNP Ltee. They have now gotten another postponement for their proposal to May 23. If they are not bankrupt, its close. Shame on them.
