I have 11 years no accidents and of those 7 have been flatbed O/S. Gone are the days of honest companies with honest pay packages. Maybe someone will surprise me. Located near the east end of Toronto. 06 Mack with 07 Stepdeck.

Just my opinion here and you know what they say about opinions so, take it for what it's worth...

We have been looking for the better part of a year for a couple of seasoned (4 years +) dropdeck O/O to no avail. Everyone is super busy and any driver who is any good, we find that they are being looked after pretty good by their existing employer.

That being said, at this time when drivers and O/O are in great demand, why do you have to advertise for a job? Maybe there are legitimate reasons for you being out of work but it just makes me wonder...

Try Laidlaw

Good Day, you should call 905-768-3375, and ask for Gene. Laidlaw has started an Oversize division. Their money is good, and there is consistent work there.

God not again! Who's quarterbacking it this time? Hope they have better load securement techniques than in previous attempts!

I am tired of broken promises by carriers who blow smoke up my A$$ as likely you do as well....and thats why you can't get anyone. If you dont like my BLUNTNESS you should not assume my professionalism in my field. I have worked with the best in my field....drivers.....that is. Carriers are a dime a dozen. All they are concerned with is that they have a big fleet in case they find some load pimp freight.

Thanks Mr Finnerty but am not partial to Camp Harrow.

Hey zippy, to bad you don't know what you're talking about, and judging by your piss poor attitude, you wouldn't last long here anyways.

Jeepnut2010,

You are a new member...been on this board for all of 5 minutes. You claim to be looking for work - received a lead from another member - and chose to mock it. May I suggest you lose the chip on your shoulder regarding carriers, act professional and contribute more useful information we can all benefit from.

Thank you

Well put AR@DRC

On that... those having a long weekend... have a good one - be safe.

Those workaholics or that just don't know any better (myself included) - see you here tomorrow.

Mr Finnerty

I just thanked you....no offense. I have talked to some of your guys and they seem happy. Just never had a great time at Atlas when I worked for Clarke Road. AND....it's ok for the mouse to question my ability but when I have an opinion I am bashed? As for puting my own name on the door...too hard to drive one truck and look for freight. I was on here before as michdave but changed email ....so started new account. Is it so bad that I posted my feelings? This section is for OWNER OPERATORS looking for work.....or is it for bashing them? Read my orginal post ADMIN GUYS.....I was polite...

Wow...

Just to refresh everyone, here's what I said as the 3rd poster on this thread:
"Just my opinion here and you know what they say about opinions so, take it for what it's worth...

A lot of great people have been supportive of you and willing to help. Then a little while later, you prove me right with a lot of attitude that almost everyone told you in no uncertain terms to tone it down.

You come back with:
" I am tired of broken promises by carriers who blow smoke up my A$$ as likely you do as well....and thats why you can't get anyone. If you dont like my BLUNTNESS you should not assume my professionalism in my field. I have worked with the best in my field....drivers.....that is. Carriers are a dime a dozen. You sir do not know me or our company from a whole in the ground so please do not lump us in with your past history.

Again, in my humble opinion, it would appear that you have a chip on your shoulder the size of Texas and it's your attitude that gets you in trouble. You can hear and feel the disdain you have for companies in your written word. I really feel sorry for you if you do not change this.

Now, to the reason we have been looking so long for O/O's. We are super picky when it comes to our people. They are not only treated like family, they are family. We make sure that all our drivers are home every Friday for THEIR families as well. And we cheap them out you say??? The last O/O we hired in May/10 grossed over $265,000 so we know it's not about the money. Everyone of our O/O grosses over $225,000.

There are way too many people out there with your attitude and that is why we are still looking. We want the right person as, again, the people we hire are family.

Hope you have a great day and find what you are looking for.

Manitoba Moose....I humbly apologize.....I took your post as a crack against my work ethics. I hope you accept. I take pride in what I do....that is why I enjoy deck work. Some of my customers get a kick out of me because I tend to treat their equipment as if it was mine. I usually have t tell them....until its off my deck BE CAREFUL with it. I got it here unharmed after it is off treat it as you feel fit. Which usually gets some roars from the Riggers. I hope we can go forward on from here and learn from each other. As for my smoke comment ....yes it is disheartening...and EVERY time it has been a large company. If Trent Logistics hadnt gone mostly Van freight I would still be there happily. The smaller companies really do appreciate their Drivers. Its too bad this Industry is squeezing or buying them out.

Finnertyequip....thank you for quickly pointing out how things have changed at Harrow. It was nice to see a quick and very professional response.....and I thank you for that. I am concerned that my current carrier is getting lax and I have potentially cut my own throat on here. Am learning quickly though.....thanks all of you.....
