Hi everyone. I am a freight broker from Montreal QC and have had a tough time finding reliable service to Western Canada for large partial shipments or FTLs. Schroeder Freight have often done a great job for me, but they are not always available. I would love to hear your recommendations on some good companies shipping from Montreal and Toronto, heading to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Trans X, not the cheapest but they get the job done whether by rail or road FTL or LTL.

We're a mostly a broker with a few company trucks (8).

We broker lots of freight to the west. Mostly Smaller LTL's (5 Skids and under). The majority of our LTL's to the west move intermodaly. Consolidated Fast Frate, CCT Logistics, Quik X etc. I've found that once the freight gets up above 5 Skids it gets really expensive until you can commit to a full container. At which point IM Xpress or Quik Trax becomes more cost effective.

Road Service to the west lately is a crap shoot... rates are up and down depending on the amount of equipment available that particular day.

I've tried to educate my shippers on this and the savvy ones are shipping earlier to take advantage of the rate stability of the rail.

If you want to move by rail choose TransX, but if you want to move by trucks, i have a guy in need of a regular run from toronto on, to Manitoba, SK, AB and BC.
Send me a PM.
