I work in a building that has a few different trucking companies. I have spoken to a couple of them and many people seem unhappy with their services and prices. The prices seem to be increasing all the time and the other day I was without service for a full day. I cannot find any other decent load board. Load Link seems to be the only one available for me. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions?

Welcome to the world of transportation, dominated here in Canada at least, by Load Link. There have been numerous other boards who have attempted to gain a foothold, without much success. The problem is, they are all selling the exact same products, trucks and loads. No one has a secret stash of available trucks, or an untapped source of available loads. Sure, they can dress up the service with a variety of different options and add ons, but at the end of the day, it is the same trucks and the same loads being posted, regardless of whose board it is. Perhaps Load Link will reach a breaking point with their customers and their pricing structure, but until then, they remain the major player.

Part of the reason other load boards do not succeed it that there is a lack of participation. Many complain about Link but also will not sign up (for free) to an alternate platform. There is no magical company that is going to pop up over night to give Link immediate competition but if we support a growing option, maybe one of them could gain a foot-hold.

Pick up the Phone LOL Load Link is a costly service its nice to have but do you really need it if you do then do not complain about it fix it or don't use it. I mean I agree with most of what people are saying but no one makes you sign up for these things. It is too bad that when you sign up you can not invoice them for lost days of work because their network is down but hey its a service pay for it or don't. I used to have to dispatch with a fax machine and a real telephone load link does your job for you so i guess paying for it saves you time and money no? Carrier Pigeon for dispatching is long gone for sure
