Hello, I am new to these threads but I find them helpful. Been in logistics for 5-years and just started on my own last month. These double brokers are all out to try and scam the new brokers. I have an excel list I've created to keep track of who's trying to scam.
Today I booked a load through A SHYNGYS LLC when I first talked to the guy last night he sounded Asian, this morning I called and he sounded European which raised a red flag. I had him send me the driver's details and I tried to call and no one answered. I called him and he then told me he got another driver who could be there faster and gave me a different truck and trailer number. The driver then called and was told to say he was with A SHYNGYS LLC. I gave my customer the name of the truck so he'd know who to look out for and when the carrier arrived my customer told me they had a different company name on the truck. I then spoke to the driver through my customer and the driver told me he booked the load through LND Logistics (as the broker) and was told to say he's with A SHYNGYS LLC. It was a complete mess the double broker told him $500 more than what he agreed with me. I was able to get his legit info and he was with MJ Logistics owner-operator. He wanted the load so I had him vetted and he checked out so I gave him the load.
Question, are there places you would typically report these issues? Any more suggestions for combatting these double brokers?
