Linamar Transportation

We've hauled directly for them for years, but stopped when they decided 75 days was the new 40. Screwthat.

Any recent updates on the payments term?
Are they still paying? still 60-75 days to pay?

Well, I've never worked for them, but in 2000 I quoted Linamar on a bunch of lanes. When I called to followup the trafffic manager somewhat rudely told me my rates were "ridiculous". So just for giggles I decided to call their transportation division for similar moves.. their rates quoted to me were even higher!

As long as people do what they say they are going to do for payments all should be ok

We were in discussions with Linamar Transportation to handle some of their freight, but when we checked their credit we advised them that there was a lot of red flags, Shaun Hunter who is their Logistics Supervisor go very arrogant when approached about their credit issues. I should of realized there was an issue when they were firm at 90 day payments and no factoring companies which we do not use anyways, but as he said and I quote "We are a 9 billion dollar company " if that's the case then why is your credit horrible , so much in collections, multiple lawsuits, and over 44 percent past due. If when we made an offer to give them a shot but at 30 days he passed. FYI they loved our rates, but the issue was we requested 30 days instead of 90 days.

“We are a 9 billion dollar company”…..well, that and $2.50 might get you a cup of coffee, but it means absolutely nothing when it comes to paying your receivables in a timely fashion.
I am telling this guy Shaun Hunter you would think he was the owner with the Arrogance he displayed, If you are a 9 billion dollar company pay your bills

When you're dealing with huge customers and you're a small supplier it becomes a master-supplicant relationship.. i.e. you will take 90+ days if you want to work with us.. (we don't really care if you were promised 30 days)..

90 days is pretty rich from a company that makes new hires watch a long video of the founders humble beginnings in Hungary only to then come to Canada and exploit new immigrants, mostly from ex yugoslavia.
Frank was a really good guy his kid that is running it all now I do not know her but she is not her old man. They used to pasy us weekly back when we first started going, If in by Friday paid next Friday then 15 it just kept creeping up to where now once in a blue moon we do a load.

Didn't know Frank personally, but I know he named the company after his kids so I guess that must mean something.

I met him buy asking who the jackass is that parked his Benz in front of the docks one Saturday morning at Hastech, Had a hot load was delivering from Wisconsin on a Saturday morning, Rolled in and dock was blocked so I walked in and ask who the jackass was blocking the docks. Franks says that would be me and went out and moved his car. The receiver was having a coranary and says to me do you knopw who that is. Me Nope! So he tells me Frank I said oops I may be in shit, Frank walks back in and I go over to apologize ( as said before we do a pile of Linamar) and he says no issue you are right I of all people should know to never block the docks I was a jackass and we both had a good laugh,

Yup. The Linamar trucks are a private fleet doing dedicated transportation related to their business. Rarely do you see Linamar looking for a load because the only instance of it is when they end up with an empty leg. But in surge periods my guess is that they outsource.
