So, which party leader is going to fix Canada?
Any thoughts about the debate tonight?
Does anyone care? lol

Harper is still the best one.

I'm hoping people are smarter than to vote for Justin Douchebag, and if people really look at how far unions have progressed Canadian manufacturing, they'll realize that Mulcair's roses and ponies routine isn't going to cut it.

The sheeple will vote for the party that promises(lies) about the most freebies. That is what got us Kathy and the fine state that she and Dally have us in. I am terrified Mulcair is going to win. If he does I believe it may be time to sell out and go sell rum drinks to the tourists on a nice warm island somewhere..

it's kinda like deciding which baseball bat I want to get hit in the head with

I really wish the liberals would find a leader worthy of the job...I honestly have no idea what Justin stands for

I'd like to see Harper lose if for no other reason, than to teach all parties that those insulting, condescending tv ads don't work...but sadly, they probably DO work on far too many people

gotta give Harper credit...he knows when to call an election

Just can't seem to get too excited about politics anymore. Regardless of who wins, the sun still comes up the next day, our taxes are still due by the end of April and there will still be wasteful spending despite the promises made by whoever wins. I mean, if Toronto is still on the face of the earth after the Ford years fiasco, I don't think Steve, Thomas or Justin are capable of doing anything worse. If the birthplace of the redneck, Stetson wearing Reform Party can elect an NDP provincial party, then I'm not going to panic over a Mulcair win either. Canada is a rather insignificant passenger on the gigantic ship called the "SS Global Economy" and whatever we decide in October is not going to influence which direction the ship goes whatsoever.

BUT, will a new leader make any difference to whether (or not) we slam into a recession?

In one word.........NO! Unless they can control the globally traded price of crude oil, or the fluculations of the CDN dollar vs the U.S. dollar. The government of the day has a very limited toolbox when it comes to controlling the effects of an economic recession. As we have seen over the last few years, even interest rates at historic lows hasn't prevented another slide into recession territory. I'm not advocating cynicism, but just lets not look for "white knights in shining armour", where none exist.

Well according to the Maclean's poll... Mulcair was the clear winner tonight. Personally I found Elizabeth May to be very impressive and in my own opinion she performed the best of all of them but I believe her party's lack of a true chance to form a government hurts her numbers in the polling results. 11825213_1498943810397657_6138394359443867644_n.jpg

I was impressed by Elizabeth May as well. I think she did a very good job. I don't think any of them can be declared the "winner". They all had their moments of strength.

Also the Iran deal will continue to drop the oil price for another 2 years at least.

There is a chance for a new prime minister to change their investment strategies away from the oil sands and more into R&D. That really is the only method to create new jobs right now in AB and SK.

really!!!??? Harper has the whole international community laughing at us... He looks out for the rich and is embarrassed by the less fortunate.. he has pulled us out of Kyoto and is running the country like Putin runs things... I hope people are smart enough to finally get rid of him. He still runs the country like a debutante

To me Mulcair looks to be the ablest of the leaders.. I'm not sure I really want an NDP government, but with no compelling arguments from the other parties I'm going with ability. But thanks to Harper I have 11 more weeks to think things over.

I have to agree with Rob ... if Mulcair forms a government it may very well be time to hang up my hat and retire. NDP's will probably be passing out pretty good pensions too ... after all, I am just an everyday workaholic ... LOL
Personally, I haven't heard the argument yet to swing my blue vote to orange, red, or green.

Mulcair able ??? ... shortly after he got elected he tried to cut a deal with the U.S. outside of the official government agenda (you all know how we feel about back-dooring here). He doesn't even care about the law of the land, what makes you think he would care about its citizens?
Trudeau ... he's just not ready. Really the red machine is pinning their hopes on his last name. Frankly, I just don't think he has enough leadership experience. A few years down the road and he'll pose a significant threat to the government of the day.
May ... Unfortunately the green party thinks pork chops just appear in the grocery store fridge. I believe the green party truly thinks it can make an omelet without breaking a single egg. If they get in we'll be back to carving our wheels out of stone.
Duceppe ... ahhh, the fly in the ointment. The NDP has more to fear from Duceppe and the Bloc than they do anyone else. Last election Quebec told the Bloc they need to change their ways. They have. NDP will be lucky to get more than a handful of seats in Quebec this time around.

Just my 2 cents worth :)
