Landstar - payment of invoices...

At one time, they were very prompt in their payments. Trend now....is that it is taking longer to receive funds.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Landstar

We have not worked with them in over a year but they were excellent in payment.

We would opt for the quick pay which was 1.5% in 48 hrs.

We would fax the invoice and 48 hrs later call in for an authorization for bill payment.
It was all automated. We would then issue ourselves a COMCHECK and then call Comheck to get an authorization number and go deposit the check.
Really the best payers I have ever seen. !

I think they are slowing down a wee bit but not that noticeably. Big problem is that stupid 1.75 discount off every cheque screws up my DSO so I cannot see it accurately.

We found Landstar to be very prompt on their payments in the past, once they aquired NLM who historically had been 60 days for payment .

Now Landstar seems to be following NLM 's pay trend.

Anyone working with Landstar's California office should be VERY CAREFUL especially if dealing with Jeff Arnett. Caught him trying to double broker our load after we confirmed with the actual carrier (not Landstar....go figure!) Lying from the start and right up till the end. Use caution. FYI.
