Lakeside - Give and Go

so everyone did a bid on these lanes. I was one of the carriers to get some lanes and we are grateful. Lakeside is a great broker that has integrity and respect for carries and the environment. So I thought, till I checked out some of the carries that got some of these lanes.

There is one on there that has 94.8 % on fatigued drivers on Safer.....I was shocked!!!

We are a carrier that used to be an incumbent carrier to G&G, since Lakeside has taken over the management of the traffic, we were deemed back up carrier.

Quite surprised as our rates were always reasonable and service over and above what was expected and we have a great safety record. We always took a stand and made it clear that we will never force a driver to go beyond his/hers HOS for the sake of "product". Educating the shipper or now in this case Lakeside is essential...I dont know for sure, but maybe Lakeside doesn't know about this tool or if they do - failed to update their files on this particular carrier that you are mentioning.

At the end of the day, it is simply about price, regardless of the client, and regardless of the the situation. Profit before morals seems to be the rule of the day

We had a driver that killed a family in AZ years back because he drove 16 hrs straight.

The driver didn't kill these folks because of his driving hours. He killed those folks because he drove beyond his limitations and crashed.

Big difference.

I guess you are right...maybe bad example. My point is that nobody cares how hard you try to be safe and have great trucks.

I can bet Lakeside was selling themselves that they use the best of the best.
