Anyone else having issues to get decent service at Kenworth. Called last week Wed to book a truck in for Monday at 7.00 am with warranty issues. Arrived prior to 7.00 to be 2nd in line, took 45 minutes to get the work order typed up, then to find out they might get to it on the afternoon shift. What was the purpose of calling ahead. Very poor customer service counter help. By the time we left there were 4 more guys there to drop off trucks. The majority of our fleet is International and 5 minutes or less to sign a truck in or out.

I can't speak for service, but I have been several times to parts and sat on their stools for 10 minutes or more before being acknowledged. This is keeping in mind there are no customers ahead of me that I can see nor are the staff tied up on a phone call.

How is Navistar to deal with?
For me, the best service we get to date is from Expressway Volvo. They pick up/drop off, and in most cases unit is down for no more than 1-2 days. Carrier International, just seem to drag their feet. You book a truck in but they get to it on their schedule, and we've been a long time customer.

Penske Truck Leasing, if my truck is down for more than 4 hours we get a replacement and we go on our merry way. We would never go back to owning no difference in cost in the long run and no lost revenue because a truck is down.

Lowmiler88, have a quick question, eh..
Did you have to sacrifice of some specs you would like to have or Penske was able to accommodate you?
Thank you.

You can spec it any way you want, they are mainly Freightliner and Volvo, you can get other trucks but they are costly doing Paccar trucks.

It's nice from an operational perspective that they give you a truck within 4 hours, but the fight I would have on my hands to get a driver to move into a loaner truck. That's a tough one.

We have been getting A1 service from Altruck out of Hamilton and Burlington, they will tell us up front if they are backlogged or going to get on it right away, no BS. If it wasn't for some of the Def or DPF issues we wouldn't have any problems to take to them.
