Keena Transport / Via Strada

FL - Carrier reference

F1 - have used them numerous times - competitive rates and no issue with service. In addition, you receive an automatic e-mail once the shipment has been picked up and/or delivered.
 
Agreed - Both TDS and F1 are wonderful providers. I'd add Carmen Cartage to the list of amazing FL LTL providers if I may.

You may want to look at the customs documents and look to see whose barcode sticker is on it. That's the clue. If it's going to the US, look at the PAPS sticker - if coming to Canada, look at the PARS sticker. Both will tell you what company is moving it. If it's anything other than who you booked with and not otherwise advised, raise hell.
 
Via Strada

We lost our largest customer because of Via Strada. They pick up your load then tell you your credit wasn't approved & hold it for ransom until you pay. Worst carrier I've ever dealt with in 15 years.

We even did a load for them and never got paid.
They said they did not get paid from their customer so they not going to pay.

Strange,

Customers closing up shop (or witholding payment for months and years) should not affect payment to you...

Unfortunately a few years ago we saw a few customers close, it had no impact on our responsibility to our suppiers. Every carrier that hauled for those cusotmers was paid (perhaps a little slower than they liked, but it's our obligation to pay for agreements fulfilled). Otherwise as a carrier you would have to approve the creditworthiness of the brokers customer before every shipment you picked up... I'm not sure that would happen anytime soon...

Keena is the same as Strada they do the same tactics. They lost us a large account for claiming bad credit and demanding payment before they would deliver. Then upon payment they didn't deliver. How are these clowns still in business is beyond me.

Chris at Keena has been arrested (details removed by Moderator). Some of Keena's ex dispatch staff have approached us about work over the years and it is a nasty place to work (based on what we are told about previous employer). They back door people, Chris back doored with Global believe it or not. They have had more labour complaints then any other trucking company I believe.
I heard that one driver had a heart attack in the US and the lady that runs runs Keena blamed that heart attack on the driver not the fact he was doing manual labour for Keena.

FYI...

Keena owes us an invoice that is over 90 days. Lots of excuses but none really worth repeating.

It's been a year since the last post. Any recent payment trends on Keena?
 
I have 6 invoices from 2017 averaging 53 days for payment if that helps. i can't comment on service.
 
I have never heard of Via Strada. I know Keena has always been ok to deal with.
